Genomachino, Gene the machine, different guys?

Shafts from Hal

Hi there,

And i do remember.

Hal has a shed full of wood that most cue makers would die to have. hal showed me about a year ago and I couldn't believe it.

My cue that I use is made by Cameron Mathy out of Kansas City. I tried to use something else about a month ago and that's when I realized how well Cam's cue plays. I go through alot of shafts though because I'm alway sanding on them.

In fact I need a couple more shafts right now. When Hal hawkins makes these shafts for me they seem to play almost the same. Now that's good quality.

Cams shafts are good too but he's in Missourri and I'm in wisconsin with my buddy hal.

Anyway, give me a call some time. 715-563-8712:cool:
Will do Geno. Yeah,I saw Hals Wood Collection too. That's why I encouraged him for many years to start building!! His Shaft Material is without a doubt some of the best grain maple I've ever seen. He hand selects all of his wood. I'll be calling you soon. Are you scheduled to come through Ft. Worth or South Louisiana in the future, let me know. ?

Gene the Machine is probably like Fast Eddie, there is probably at least one in every town over 50,000 people.

I don't know, Gene is a very uncommon name. They guy would first have to be named Gene, would have to play pool and play like a machine. I am not sure there would really be that many known by that name and certainly not nationally. Anybody with the last name woods who plays golf may call themselves Tiger Woods, but I doubt there would be much mistaking them for the real champion.

Gene Cooper has been known as Gene the Machine for about 40 years. I think when someone refers to the top bar table player Gene the Machine, no one thinks they mean some a kid that works in Walmart and plays on his bar league and is named Gene.
