It is real. I have one that I saved recently found on Craigslist as a Shawn for $45. I had it refinished with a new butt cap as the old was cracked so no Schon logo and the forearm had been repaired, really rough shape as you can see. Its an R12 which is much like the SL7 but sharp inlays but my R12 does not have sharp points so the years are probably late 80s to early 90s for it when they started doing CNC. This one also has two color veneers for in the butt and some unique ring work.

Here are pics before and during its refinishing.

Agreed, it looks like a schon to me. Also , I have broken the butt cap on my schon twice now , after the second time my cue guy had to make me a butt cap and engraved schon on it himself. I can tell it looks a little different but no biggie , IMO.

Its a Schon. No doubt. Not very expensive or valuable but a Schon. It probably plays well though.

Hi all,

First post on this site, looking for opinions. I recently purchased this cue and am awaiting arrival. I hope I didn't make a rookie mistake by using my smart phone for purchase! After I got home and blew up the photos something(s) just don't look quite right to me. No dots over the "o" in Schon and the diamonds don't look like they could poke an eye out???

Looking for any and all feedback/opinions from all you gurus out there.

Thanks in advance,

MOORHEAT
I have two Schons. This looks real. The bumper and the points look all Schon to me.

I hope you are off on your guestimate....I paid way more than that.......truth be told haven't ever seen a Schon go for that low of a price tag.....it has been completely re-finished and being told was an R12. One said it looked like and SL7. Guess I'll have to live with whatever it's worth as it should be on my doorsteps in the next day or two. Thanks for your input.

It is an SL7. They retail for just under the $600 mark brand spanking new. I personally wouldnt pay over $350 for your cue as it is right now in your pics. The refinish from Schon would cost you around $150 btw.
