George Balabushka Titlist Cues

I seem to remember John telling me about when he and Burton supplied blanks to George, he was cutting them off. I believe at that point they started supplying him with what John referred to as "shorties", still full splice blanks but with a much shorter backend. Maybe shortly after that he started buying even shorter blanks from Gus.

Not sure about rosewood blanks but I know they supplied the ebony blanks shorter

John has also told me he made short and full splice blanks for George.

titlist cut for weight for length

Some titlists are heavy, it is conceivable to me that he would replace a heavy rosewood handle with maple if he didn't want to build a heavy cue. Also, some titlist's don't have much distance between the end of the butt and the bottom of the points, it may have been necessary to extend the cue as to not cover up half of the points. Some Rambows, Willie Hoppe Professional and other early titlist conversions have a good portion of the points covered with the wrap.
