George Breedlove

With this old thread wobbling to life I have to say that I think being married to George is why Jeanette Lee could be out of public action for long stretches and emerge in top form. Steel hones steel.

As for George, he used to say he would play anybody in the world even, if they first spent a week working alongside him in his shop everyday! Generally heavy work and pool don't go together well although I have seen it happen.

Hu
I used to say, let’s do a 100 mile bicycle ride then we can play some🤣

In the aftermath of his playing days, he focused on his outdoor furniture business and made a big success of it.

I only saw George Breedlove play once. He was playing Joe Frady in the finals of a McDermott Tour tournament in the mid-1990s. Breedlove came from the loser’s side, so he had to beat Frady twice. He struggled the first set, but he hung in there and managed to beat Frady. He got in stroke in the second set and beat Frady rather handily. Talk about heart.
If I remember the tournament, I think you're talking about 1994, McDermott tournament at First Break Cafe in Sterling, Virginia. All the DC area greats were there. George played excellent.
