I've had a lesson with the man and I get a great vibe from him but I just thought I would throw it out to the AZ public. Has anyone had a lesson with him and do you feel like this man is a mentor?

I used to see him a lot around the DC area tournaments, always seemed cool to me. Never had a lesson from him, but then I mostly give lessons.:grin-square: I think he asked me one time why I pounded so many balls warming up. Did he instruct you to slam a lot of balls or was I unconvincing, lol?

George was the first person willing to share information about the game when I first started playing. He was one of the few that shared the "secrets" of the game. Very knowledgable and a good teacher. I was lucky enough to get my tips for free before he became a certified teacher, but would pay for the information he shared. He is also a good player who could help any level player improve.

The Hammer is one of the nicest guys in pool and willing to help anyone. I went to him years ago and he was very helpful. I have nothing but good things to say about George. He is also a treat to go to a movie with. He says some of the funniest things during some of the most intense scenes. Good guy. I wish he would play in more local events though.

I've never taken lessons from him, but I do hope he learned something from the ASS WHIPPINS he got from me:eek::grin-square::eek:.

George is one of the good guys for sure. An incredible life he has led and incredible place in the World he has assumed.

He damn near had me in tears once at a tourney when we had a conversation. Not out of sadness, but from my realization of how a single human can move the Worlds of so many others. Kinda blew my mind.
