I'll be geting a new cue for my birthday, I need one because the past few months i have been playing with a $20 fiberglass piece of junk.

my price range is $75-$120 and my only options without buying online at that price are Players, Rage, and Cuetec because that's all the billiard stores around here have besides Mcdermott(sp) and Lucasi but they are out of my price range.

I hate cuetecs. out of players and Rage what would you guys recommend?

CUE REPLACEMENT

Jointed, Dufferin, Player cues are ok, you can get a bottom end McDermott retail $125, the new cuetec shafts play good, but retails is $139, for $150 you can get a Lucasi with a 12 month warranty, free return shipping if there are problems. also, McDermott now gives a lifetime warranty against warpage to the origingal owner, HuMMMMMMMMMMMMMm. I would personally buy from someone that can help me if problems occur.

cue in modest price range

I don't normally reply to these inquiries because any of these suggestions are so subjective, but I reccomend to my students when I teach that investing in a good cue if they plan to play regularly is a must, not necessarially hyper expensive but good, Mya I suggest you go to Pechauer Cues home page and look at his entry level cues, that have solid workmanship, good wood joints ferrules tips and then call Jerry on his 800 number and think of purchasing one of his entry level cues. the hit will be terrific and should anything ever need correcting you will find no better people to help thatn those in his shop.I thnik Jerry Pechauer is a credit to his craft and he strives to get folks in ggod cues they can afford. I now have 11 student that play with Jerry's cues and every one is completely pleased, Just a thought

Cat, how r ya? Go to eBay, type in Lucasi Cue and you WILL find a cue in your price range. They play well.

Look out for the ebay scam. .Buying a cue for yourself u need to know the weight u like and do u want points on it and all that other stuff.but if u and a set price on a cue i would go with a lucasi cue .nicey made cues .Or you can go to Nineballknig.com And look at there line of fury cue .that start out cheep but thay hit good and the work aint to bad.Good luck..

I'm looking for a new cue myself. Trying to decide between Lucasi and Viking. Any comments on these two cues and how they compare to each other?

My advise is save your money for a while or shop for a used leval 2 cue made by a known cue maker.

In case u dont know, a leval 2 has no points or inlay and often doesnt have wrap but can hit as well as a more expensive higher lvl cue. JMHO!

I don't want to buy a cue from ebay and take a chance that it may be in bad shape when it gets here.

I have made my mind up, i'm buying a new lucasi friday, it has the true wood to wood connection and looks very nice.

Let's see, the seller has 180 feedbacks, 178 of which are positive (meaning no problems) and you can buy a Lucasi, a break cue and a 2X4 leather case for $75 and you don't want to take a chance?

Remind me never to gamble with you, LOL.

For the money Players are great.........My opinion is look at some sneaky petes by a decent maker. You might could find a nice used plain cue of Sneaky Pete. That way you get a cue worth having.

Hey I'm a gambler man, a bad one too(it runs in the family) I'll bet anyone anytime for anything :)

I just have my heart set on this lucasi at the local billiard supply store.
