Getting a pool table again

Buying a pool table again. Had a table since I was 6. Heavily used old, presswood slate crap table whose legs fell off and thus rested on two saw horses. Really enjoyed playing on that crappy thing trying to make shots that I read it Bob Byrnes book. Always enjoyed playing at home; form of relaxation. Got a better table played in tournaments and leagues. Learned to understand and play all the games including some balkline and 3c. Watched videos, read books, followed it on TV. After 30 years of playing on and off, I more or less quit playing 3 years ago and then gave away my table, busy with family and having a busy job and couldn't stand the smoke. Found a deal on a nice 9 foot table that I am buying this weekend. Pretty excited to be able to bang em around again.

Congrats I had a table for 15 years and sold it 5 weeks ago to upgrade and the wait is about to kill me. My new table is still about three weeks out:( What kind of table did you find?

9 foot custom Olhousen. Used, but not like I'll use it. Wanted a Gold Crown or Diamond, but like Olhausens too. Bought a Leisure Bay that after 5 years sagged like a dirty diaper. Couldn't slow roll a rail shot; started to roll towards the center. Drove me nuts; snapped a few sticks. Gave it to the in-laws. They were happy and so was I. A few weeks off should hurt you; a couple of years off could be ugly.

The table I just let go was a Olhausen 9 ft, it played great with simonis and ok with Forstman. I never had any problems with the rail shots, I did think of other reasons to break sticks ;) Good luck
