getting the shaft by my apa operator!!!!!!!

$40 up here in Maine. I really don't mind though they do a lot of stuff for the players that really make it fun. Now I could really complain about the price of gas!!!!:slap: :banghead:

I got my start in APA about a year and a half ago and have already begun to distance myself from the league. I've discovered that TAP is a great league here in Dallas and am thinking about getting into BCA soon enough.

I find that the draw of a free trip to Vegas really brings out the worst in people! Sandbagging is rampant and unstoppable and the level of play is simply not consistent because of it. I prefer a league where local play is competitive all the time.

Although, there is always that draw of a free trip to Vegas... hehehehehe :grin-devilish:

The Vegas trip is precisely why I play BCA now and not APA. I've been to Vegas for both APA and BCA and BCA is just on a completely different level. Most local BCA leagues also give away a trip to vegas at the end of each session but instead of just paying out $1 of each person's weekly fees they pay out most or all of it. If you haven't played BCA before, then you might not know that you don't have to qualify to play in Vegas like you do in APA...all teams can sign up, even if you don't win the trip.

I will say this tho, APA has done a lot to draw more interest in the sport, it provides an avenue for beginner players to compete that they might not be able to do elsewhere. I just prefer to play BCA and most of my reasons have more to do with my local league operators than APA national...The people that run the national office are great people and really support the sport.

we pay $8 per plr. but tables are open for free so $8 bux really isn't much cause if you don't play that night you still play for free so it's a cheap night anyway ya look at it

My team had to pay like $25 for team registration in the beginning of the season. I pay $18 for every night I play ($9 for 8 ball, $9 for 9 ball) and each race usually lasts about 10 minutes.

Does anybody know how much Amsterdam Billiards in NY charges for their BCA league nights? I might be interested in joining next season if it's not too expensive~

There are 3 people on my team, myself (10) my cousin (9) and a friend (8)..we pay 15.000 to join the league...then its 5.00 weekly fees.....payback is 100% at the end of the session...there is a tourney...top prize last session was 500.00 or a Schon cue....it paid down 6 places......so I think our league is pretty lucky...we have someone really good running ours... we are in ACS and VNEA league

table fees are .50

In south Jersey we pay $11.00 per person. So this is $55.00 per team each night of play.

In northern suburbs of Minneapolis, it's the same at most places.

$60 total - $30 to pool hall, $30 to APA

$12 per player if 5 players

25.00 yearly dues for every member (25 starts with next year, was 20) - that should be nationwide for apa if you're asked for more contact national office and ask why. there is no registration fee for a team, again if you're asked to pay to register a team call the national office. here in the atl i pay 9 bucks a team for the in house leagues i shoot on and 7 for the travelling league i shot in. i don't know exactly why the in house cost more but i have been told the two in house locations charge more for table time (and they do) so the league has to pay a little more to use the facilities, and i can live with that. all that being said i still pay more for bca - 20 to join and 10 a week.

Also in South Jersey, Maple Shade area, we pay $7.

I think that some are missing the point that some LOs DO more than others.

Some have end of the year partys or events, some have additional fees no seen by other leagues, or as stated, some pay for rooms at the cities.

An extra buck? Wow, let's tar and feather the guy for .65 cents. No wait, the tar and feather prices have gone up, so that woudn't be profitable.
