got a chance to buy one but dont know much about either. which one jumps better, which one breaks better. i have a hanshew jump cue im thinking of selling if i get one of these. do either jump as good as the hanshew. the alex brick is the diamond wood and the gilbert is an 06 model, they are both about the same price............thanks for any help

I don't think you can ever go wrong with a gilbert. I get the feeling they are a lot easier to flip too if you decide you don't like it.

Both good...hard to beat a Gilbert, If I had to just have one cue for everything, it would be a Gilbert.

I have had several of each maker's J/B cues. As far as breaking and jumping go, the all dymondwood Brick has a HUGE advantage over the Gilbert. Resale value, the Gilbert has the advantage. Gilbert also has the advantage in the fact that it doubles as a nice playing cue to take into places that you don't want your fancy cues.

high performance breaker = Brick Dymondwood J/B
better all around cue and investment = Gilbert J/B

hanshew

can anyone tell me if these jump as well as the hanshew? i have heard the brick was a real good jumper as well as break cue

DrOnepocket hit the nail on the head here

The Brick will jump better and will crush the rack.

The Gilbert will break and jump decent, but will also play very well

You just have to figure out what you want out of your purchase and make the choice accordingly

You'd be smart to at least . . .

try the Brick before you plop down the cash.

I've tried his Dymondwood breaker and they're the nutz! It SMASHES a rack. Not to say that the Gilbert isn't a fine cue too, but I was really impressed with Alex's break/jump. I'm savin' pesos to get one soon.

Several players I know here in northern Alabama use 'em, and they aren't worried about the re-sale . . . because they are NOT for sale!
