Ginacue Raffle????

This is a follow up to a previous post asking for input on a High-end raffle.

The cue I am considering selling/raffling, I haven't made up my mind yet but I have a new Gina coming in about a week, is my 3 month old Gina.

It is, for now at least, very much a one of one cue. That is to say, not only is the shaft work unique but several element in the butt are also new. The "butterflies" between the points aren't new other than the colors, but I have never seen a Gina with ivory points and the butterflies in-between where the material below the butterflies isn't also ivory. I felt that made the points less defined unlike this cue which has the impregnated blue wood under them, clearly defining the ivory points. The double opposed butterflies in the butt between the windows is also something Ernie has never done before.

Anyway, I know I would get offers from collectors but thought a raffle might give someone who otherwise might not be able to own a cue like this a chance.

The cue is approx. 19.75 oz, 3 13mm shafts - two with inlays, one "players" shaft, Elephant trunk wrap. Everything white is pre-ban ivory. Only the players shaft has ever been chalked or hit.

Here are a few pics, if I choose to sell or raffle it here I will take some better pics.

Do you think there would be enough interest in a raffle, and if so at what price point per "ticket"?

Thanks,

Joe

Now this is what i call a raffle...lol..This is going to be awesome depending on the price you want for each ticket. Other than that...i think its a good idea.

Hopefully, no one will ever play with this cue. Quite the work of art. Its the first cue that I've ever said that about...

Don't play with it..... That cue is screaming for a extremely hard 10 ball break... J/K, nice cue though . it will be an interesting auction to watch unfold. good luck... JS

Wow!!!

Awesome cue ... that is a beautiful cue no doubt I would imagine it will draw alot of intrest.

I'd definitely take part if the price of a ticket were low enough. $100 or less. Might require a lot of slots if that cheap...

I agree, i have a real nice Gina and used it for a month as my break cue.

I can't believe you're already getting rid of this cue, you just got it. Good luck with this.

Thanks Mully,

I have another Gina coming in about a week and can't really justify havin' so much dough tied up in cues, since I don't consider myself a collector.

I do think it's among the prettiest cues ever....for my eye at least....and it hits the ball as good as it looks.

Holy shit. I'll trade you a SW (and my wife) for it. If you raffle it, I'm in.

Seriously. What's it worth? 8K or more?

Hahaha....please post a picture of your wife!

j/k....I've got a wife prettier than the cue, I'm not sure of her market value but "upkeep" is brutal, I constantly need to change "wraps" and I haven't figured out how to "unscrew" her either....:)

I believe your guess of 8k+ to be the market....I guess time will tell.

If you're looking to get $8k plus, you shouldn't have too much of a problem selling $80 spots at a $100 each. You might even be able to sell 160 spots at $50. But remember to allow multiple buy-ins.

Once you go above 42 spots, how do you tie in the powerball without having to go through multiple powerball drawings?

Joe

How about doing 84 spots @ $100 (1-42 twice). The two who have the winning number on each list go in for the next drawing. Give one odds and one evens on 1-42 (flip a coin to decide). The one that wins gets the cue and the runner up gets $400. That way you get something for winning the first round, and you get 8k. I would be in for sure!

I really like this idea. It makes the process a lot more nail-biting, and last longer.

I bet he could sell 168 spots at $50/e pretty easily (I think easier than $100 tickets) and have a four-way tie that goes to the next round (#s 41 and 42 would result in a redo). Each finalist gets $100, the winner gets the cue, seller gets $8k.

Of course, that assumes 8k is a good price for the cue; I'm really bad at valuing these things.

It's an interesting idea, and I like the "consolation" prize.

Joe,

You did also forget to mention that you are thinking of ordering another Gina!!!! I have a mind like a steel trap, nothing gets in, nothing gets out!!!

I'd also be interested as long as the price of the ticket wasn't too much. I guess over $100 might be too much for some. That is one amazing cue what do you think the ballpark value of something like this is, maybe 6k?
