That hurts!Jerry Yost said:Isn't the one on the right a Phillippi design?
cueaddicts said:Once again, Jimbo, you are right. Can't point to any one specific post right now on that topic, but many of us know it's the truth.
Know what is the truth?? That I think Ernie is one of the top cuemakers all time as well as currently? How is that getting me? I don't sell his cues, I don't push his cues and you can't show where I've even commented on it too many times. I guess I really don't get your point, sure Ernie is Great! So what, big deal you caught me, guilty as charged???? How is this a bad thing against me?
Also....since you seem to be the forum's self-proclaimed "end-all and know-all" when it comes to the do's and don't of cues,
I've never claimed any such thing, I don't even understand what you mean by this, please explain. I've made my opinions very clear and some are well known, you don't have to agree, they are just my opinions, isn't that what this forum is for? Isn't it to share opinions, agree and disagree, as well as debate? I don't see why you are so worked up about me and my opinions. I also don't see why you get mad when I point out that we have rules and why it bothers you when I ask someone not to break them.
designs,
I've made it very clear that I don't think STEALING someone's intellectual property is wrong, you can disagree and you can think stealing is fine, that's your opinion, but don't be made at me for calling it what it is and exposing thieves for what they are. Other then that I don’t think I've told anyone how they should design their cues as long as they are original, again feel free to show where I have and I'll explain my post.
collecting,
Again I don't believe I've ever told anyone how or what they should collect, I feel that's personal and I have respect for people who do collect, no matter what they collect, even if they collect Meucci's or Viking's.
and on-line etiquette,
Here we may have a sticking point, this forum has rules, they should be followed. I didn't make the rules, I try not to break the rules, but if I do I don't mind someone calling me on it. These are not my rules and they sure aren't my opinions, they are common sense and should be followed, why does it bother you when I ask people to respect this forum and it's rules??
I just have one question.
When are we going to see some of your stuff..........or...........ARE YOU AFRAID OF BEING PUBLICALLY CRITIQUED ????

cueaddicts said:Oh, I just typed that ("kidding") so that you would be sure to have something to bitch about today. Not that I'm defending Bill (I'm not) but your $hit is getting stale again. When you get tired of being the forum policeman, let us know. Maybe we can get together and have a party.![]()
there is going to be copys no matter how you look at it! look at those phillipinos copying jerry mcworters work on e-bay selling for 300.00_ and jerrys cues selling for 15 Xs that but you get what you pay for!Jerry Yost said:Jimbo,
The joke was funny! I found the thread about that particular cue design interesting and read many of the posts. I don't understand how anyone could argue that the design of the Phillippi wasn't a copy, or at a minimum, inspired by the Ginacue. To me, it looked virtually identical. That being said, I also don't understand how anyone would expect that any form of art / design wouldn't get copied. I would venture to say that EVERY form of art is copied. From paintings, music, film, etc. Anyone that buys a painting of the Mono Lisa would know if it was painted by Da Vinci. Anyone who buys a Ming Vase would know if it was made in the Ming Dynasty. Why wouldn't you expect to see this type of thing happen in the cue world?
great cues, ernie does SUPER work and his work is highly respected and keeps it's value as well. Your site is great,as well and you, come highly respected!!!!!!! in the industry, keep up the good work. Everyone out there lets have a moment of silence and prayer for John Wright if he was still alive you know he'd be here with us,telling us off or trying to sell us a cue. Some people did not like him but think about it,he could fine you a cue or get you one. He was the best at it in the whole world at one time.
