Angela wasn't available when you came over. The girl who you were going to play, who lost her phone, was Rebecca Zhou Meng Meng. World Junior Champion, beat Jasmin Ouschan and 17th at the World Champs.

Here's Zhou Meng Meng (Rebecca)

Colin,

My fiance is from Singapore and speaks Chinese, Indonesian, and English very well. She also played in the Cue Tech Nationals last year after winning the College Nationals. She has met a number of players that all enjoyed having her there and think she has a ton of talent. We live in WI and there is not much for qualifiers here, but my fiance has the means and desire to travel to the qualifiers. She is also looking for a good sparring partner and is also wanting to make an attempt to get her tour card. She is back in Singapore now but we will be back Oct 18 after the wedding.

Give me a call or e-mail me. Please put something in the subject line of the e-mail because I get a lot of junk e-mail.

I'm trying to find a girl in the US who speaks Chinese who is involved in the WPBA qualifying tour.

The reason is to help one of the Chinese girls who will come over to try to qualify. Basically her English is not so good yet, so she needs a travel partner and organizer.

If anyone knows anyone, please connect them to me.

Thanks,
Colin

I think you can contact taiwan billiard organization (CTBA&APBU). They are familiar with Kim, Chen, Huang and Pan, and maybe they can give you some help.

Well, there are a lot of pretty girls in China I guess :D

Angela and Rebecca are the two stand out players in China and it's fortunate they are both very presentable.

I have passed on Kelly's contact info, so I guess she will be contacted soon. A lot going on at the moment with an upcoming event with Angela playing Ralf here in 2 weeks.

We are doing more research and a couple of kind people are offering their insights and suggestions on the best way to go about entering the tour.

Thanks for your's and everyone else's suggestions :)

Colin,

My reply e-mail was returned for some reason. Maria has not decided on any qualifiers yet. She is going to be working with Jerry Brieseth a little when she gets back. She has not been playing much so needs to get her game back up to where she is happy with it. We will know more when we return from Singapore at the end of Oct.

Thanks 647,
Preferably we need a Chinese who is familiar with the WPBA and getting around in the states. I could get girls in China here who speak English well enough to escort her, but they may get lost in the US :(

If she comes to NY, i can help her get to some NEWT events and others and i can put her in touch with a couple of Amer Chinese ladies who have played in the Q'rs and WPBA but who probably will not be playing in Q'rs next year unfortunately. Sorry i cant do more.

647,
They have tons of videos on top147.com, but even I can't access them without some help from a chinese friend guiding me through it. Also, there is a small mambership fee done from phone in China. So it's basically to hard for any non-chinese to access.

Sorry I don't have the time or resources to get and post a lot of videos somewhere. Maybe one day.

Try searching pool videos here and you can find some threads that link to some video sites and you may find links to an FTB hub group where people share videos.

Good luck and sorry I can't be of more help at this time.
Colin

It was 1:57 PM your time when you made this post, shouldn't you be in school learning instead of stalking a pool forum for pool videos?? Or is the Open that boring that you have to play in fantasy land over the internet??

Collin- Hasn't your friend already played in some q'ers here in the US??? I am familiar with her name, yet I am not exactly sure why.

It's because of the Muslim students who need to go for their Friday prayer,so i make that post when i had just finish with the prayers, cause im a Muslim myself.

Thank You

Hi Landshark,
No Angela (Pan Xiao Ting) has never been to the states. You may have heard her name from her 3rd place finish in this year's Women's World Championships in Austria, or from some of my mentions of her on these boards in the past. Such as when she won the Asian Women's Championships or the Japan All Open.

I met her about 4 years ago here in Shanghai we played a race to 7 which she drilled me. Her two practice partners were ranked among the top few Chinese male players and it was generally accepted that she was a level above them. I said that day she was definitely close to being a top 5 in the world female player.

A few weeks after that she won the China Open title against over 100 of the best male players in China. (She had a 3 frame handicap but never needed it.) Then two weeks after that she took out the women's world champion Liu Xin Mei to win the Japan Open.

I've seem Kim Ga Young play a few times and I consider Angela to be a level above her in cue ball control. Kim beat her in the world champs semis, but Angela played well below her capabilities. She needs more tourmanment experience. When she gets it, Allison and Karen will have a player to fear I am sure.
