I'm not talking about the weight of the table...LOLz I'm talking about lifting that off to use the table...

I have a feeling they just swiped a window pane from somewhere in their fraternity house. We had a bunch of engineers in my college fraternity and they were pretty handy and creative when it came to building beer pong tables.

With the color of the edge, I'd bet it's just a piece of plexiglass or lexan & not really glass. Plexiglass or lexan wouldn't be as expensive, heavy or easy to damage as glass either.

Edit: I just noticed that's a frat house logo on it. No way in hell it's glass.

That looks really neat, makes a nice feature of the table surface too, but I wonder if it would scratch easily - I notice all the "glasses" on it are actually made of light-weight plastic!

I considered building the same thing for my table but decided that a full room drink rail would serve the same purpose. Guess I could have done both???

Lexan and Plexiglass both scratch VERY easily. I have a friend that's been a glass installer for nearly 20 years, and that's what he told me some time back.
