Glasses for Pool?

I know that there are glasses you can wear that minimize glare and sharpen your vision by blocking out the blue colors.I have heard of people who go hunting or target shooting using amber colored glasses because it helped them to see better. We all saw Earl using them and obviously if it worked he would still be using them. I saw an ad on TV for these bad boys and was curious if any of you had used non prescription glasses for shooting pool. http://www.seen-on-tv.ws/mail-order/hd-vision.html

Lenny,

That HD Vision is a joke. What gives the "sharper" image is the polarization of the lens as it blocks our light moving in a certain direction. Try using them in the rain, you can actually see better.

To get things brighter the color of the lens will do that for you. I used to competition shoot and I used yellow shooting glasses because it made things much brighter to me.

If it were up to me, I would get polarized glasses with yellow (possibly amber) lenses.

I hope this helps and please correct me if I didn't remember my physics well enough.

Thanks

Dan

I personally wear the glasses exactly like Rhymer the poker player wears. I in fact see worse; however, it spooks my opponents so badly because they don't want to upset the nutty guy.

Now that I think about it, I am going to pull out my shooting glasses and try it.

Let us know if it helps at all, if it makes colors brighter and images sharper then it must help. I just cant see myself wearing them to play.

Shooting glasses (kind of a broad term) are usually worn for eye protection (mandatory unless your crazy you're only issued two eyes) and optimizing light to make it easier to see. "Old timers who don't believe in eye protection usually won't wear ear protection.

General list:
Clear (indoors or night).
Amber or Yellow: (overcast days).
Dark: Sunlight

There are also devices for competition "bulls eye" shooting (available from a quality shooting supply store) attached to a rifle or monocles that make the front sight clearer.

I would be curious to know if certain colors are available that make the object ball clearer.
