Glenn "The Anaconda" Atwell, US BAR TABLE 9 BALL CHAMPION!!!!!!

The 3 finals thing...

There was another player who accomplished a "Three Finals Finish"..

It was Mark Tadd....he won two of the three events and finished 2nd in the other....

I believe it was 9ball...8ball and one pocket or something like that...

This is well known and much talked about in the tournament world...

Jay Helfert will have the exact details for sure...

Mr. J...

Thanks Jeff for clearing this up!

Congrats Glenn, I remember watching him shoot at the Midwest 9 ball tour a year ago & winning it... got my respect.

Glenn and Daz

Wow, what great pool by the both of them! And Daz is a class act in finishing 2nd in the all around and says something like who would have thought that if you finish 1st, 2nd and 4th you would not win the all around? Go figure? So, nice job Glenn and a bummer of a time to come up dry on the last 2 breaks with Stevie Moore (when leading 4 to 2) or it would have been two firsts and a second. That is like a pro golfer shooting 62, 63, 62, 63. Usually doesn't happen. Thanks for the spectacular entertainment!!!

Simply put, these were not soft fields. In fact many top players showed up to try to grab some of that "easy" money. To finish with a first and two seconds is remarkable, and a true testament to a great pool player, GLENN ATWELL! It was kind of the "Glenn and Darren" show all week, and a great show at that. Glenn picked up close to 13K overall and Darren won nearly 10K. Not too shabby for a little bar table get together.

Best of all, Glenn and Darren are both class acts and great examples of the best pool has to offer. Talented, dedicated and humble are words I would use to describe both these men.

Yes, Mark Tadd did make three finals at the 1993 L.A. Open. He won the 9-Ball and Banks, and finished second to Steve Cook in the One Pocket. All three of these fields were stocked with top players as well. Maybe the most amazing tournament performance I ever witnessed. Mark won $26,000 that week (actually nine days), not too bad a score either.
