GLOVES at the Mosconi Cup

There is no longer a "stigma" for glove wearers. In the past, nobody would use them or make fun of those that did. Now, nobody thinks twice about it, I mean, there are so many sports were gloves are involved, it's no biggie.

Gotta LOVE the GLOVE :)

I have used several but the best one I have found for me personally is a Kamui Glove. Very impressed with it.

Mine don't get hot or sweaty. But I do take it off if I am not playing. I don't like the fact it comes so high up on my wrist that I can't wear a watch. That's my only complaint though.

Can a glove add value to a player who primarily uses an open bridge?

Absolutely! I only play open bridge. Just make sure the glove has a full thumb and not a cut off end. The sliding is much more consistent.

Some gloves are better than others? Curious what members prefer? Please only respond if you have tried several different brands!
Tried Molinari and Cuetec. Stuck with cheap cuetec because I saw no real reason to blow more money, despite that it looked nicer and was more fitting. Also Cuetec is very black and very plain.
Molinari blue did color a fellow players shaft baby blue.

Maybe a glove like Michael Jackson wore will improve singing for Alex P. and dancing for Rodney M.

I think the glove is a useful tool, but I definitely prefer to feel the shaft (gawd sometimes speaking in pool lingo is so awful lol). When I used to play in bars with APA league I would always use a glove, or go efren style and bring baby powder lol. Now that I play at an awesome pool hall that vacuums the felt and cleans the balls almost daily I never wear a glove. Always keep one in the bag just in the case though.

I tried a few less-expensive gloves and did not care for them, especially did not like the feel of a glove that was not cut off at the fingertips. I've been playing with the Molinari glove for about six months and the fit and quality is much better. Worth the extra $ IMO.

The hand panty is damn sexy, chicks dig the glove.
If you have nice nails and clean hands it looks good.
..... and it gives you extra room to add an additional sponsor that gets a lot of camera time

I've tried Molinari, Sir Joseph, and some other cheap brands. I like the fingerless style. I've found the best value glove to be the Cuetec (using scissors to cut off the fingertips). The cut Cuetec doesn't unravel at the tips.

Or, you could seal the cut off fibers with a lighter and flame, gently!
Any my thoughts exactly, cut it off when it suits you.

Molinari gloves were pretty well represented this year

Been using those for a few months by now.
They're a big mess.
If you want to spend 30 bucks on a glove every other month then you're fine.
If not, keep your money.
Stitches come lose all the dang time.
Just recently had to re-stitch the index finger almost the entire length of it.
AND that's just this time. Thum has done the same so have other stitches.
The joint where the velcro is, is junk.
The end of each finger is very much a subject to come unstitched etc etc...
And I haven't even mentioned the rubber pad in the palm which wears off very fast.
Not as fast as the Predator rubber but still way too fast.
For 30 bucks you can do much much better starting with Kamui.

I play 7 days a week.. Molinari gloves last me almost a year. I just wash it every couple weeks when it starts to get a little loose. I bought kumui glove at the expo in april and It got holes in it about a month a go and I had to go back to my mollinari. in my opinion they're both really good but for me the mollinari was a little more comfortable and lasted just a bit longer.

Wash, hmmmm, I think I'll try that. Meant to get around to it, but never leaves my case pocket, so you just forget about it until the next time you play pool

It never was a real stigma to wear a glove The stigma attached to those who ridiculed what they did not understand. And now some of the best in the world wear them and the glove ridiculers are the ones who look foolish now.

All I know is that I'd be wearing one under that pressure, one less thing to worry about if your bridge hand sweats :)

That's because Molinari gloves are the best gloves made today!

I used to use a glove several years ago. I learned that that most gloves, at that time, picked up a lot of chalk residue, I learned to wash my gloves in Woolite and after rinsing I would hang glove to dry. I was surprised how dark blue and dirty the glove got from 1 or 2 playing sessions.
I figured that if chalk build up was left in the glove, it would act as an abrasive on the shaft while stroking. I kept 2 or 3 extra gloves to rotate while washing. did not seem to affect the life of gloves. I do not know about the material on new gloves, but am seriously thinking going back to using a glove.
