Glue relief for the Joint Pin Installation

What do you use to make them

I use 3 longitudinal channels for glue and air relief. Aside from being relief channels to be able to bottom out the screw, without splitting the forearm, they act as "locks" when the epoxy hardens. Comes in handy to counter the forces applied should the female counterpart get dirty and locks-up.
what do you use or how do you make them the 3 longitudinal channels for glue and air relief. Thanks

If it were me, i would use a horizontal mill with indexer.

It would be easy enough to use a vert mill with indexer also.

Basically, the hidden portion of the joint screw, would resemble a tap. I am not sure if Michael Webbs "Tap tap tap" was a play on words or not.

A play on words, (no ) It meant that I also cut channels in the screws and that I believe it to be the proper way to install a pin.

No offense intended, Michael. It just struck me as being a funny coincidence.

I use an HSS slitting saw with the pin attaced to a dividing head on the bench mill. But back 5 years ago, I made a jig to guide the cutting disk of a Dremel before I started using the aforementioned set-up. Cut deeper than the valleys (minor diameter) of the threads to get a nice outflow of air and glue when you insert the pin.

Sir Bandido, bit by the CNC bug already?
Heard that thing is contagious... :D

I found it interestng but not confined to just inlay cutting. I have finished building a prototype and now working on building a cnc assisted shaft final taper machine and a painting machine. There are procedures in cuemaking that can benefit from a higher percentage of human intervention (handcrafting) and some that'll benefit from high precision and repeatability of robotics. I didn't go through the normal route of just buying a cnc machine but rather designed and built it myself to what I needed it for.

Thanks Tracy, it has been hectic that I had to get serious wit my time management. And unfortunately, time for the forums needed to be cut down. I also had some problems with #@*& that keeps bad-mouthing me in their sales pitches even though their construction systems were patterned after mine or misrepresent that their cues are then claim that they are ERs (counterfeiting).

I enjoy sharing knowledge but when these "banana cue" makers start bad-mouthing and counterfeiting me after benefitting from me .... I wish that they'll just work hard, apply what they've learned and make a name for themselves. For ths reason, I have to aplogize for declining to post new pics and detailed info on new development. I'll just step back for a while and watch them fall flat on their faces, as I've noticed in some posts in forums, has already started. I hope you'll understand.

ps: You were right about the thankless fools MW!

Yeah, I think I do. Post what you can when you have time. I was just about to send out a search party, it's been quite a while. ;)
