Gluing a Samsara tip to phenolic/graphite ferrule???

I have a couple of budget jump/break cues (Action) that have the one-piece tip/ferrule on them. They were described in the ad as having one-piece phenolic tip/ferrule combinations on them. I have heard them described on this website as being a graphite-weave ferrule/tip. They are black, are one-piece and do have what looks like a basket-weave pattern on them.

I am wanting to install a Samsara break tip on both of these cues to make them BCA legal. I was wondering if I could flatten the graphite (or phenolic, whatever it is) ferrule down on my lathe and epoxy a Samsara tip on or is it just not worth the endeavor and should I go ahead and have a regular ferrule put on them?

If it is okay to flatten the ferrule and glue a tip on, should I take the ferrule down to the tenon or should I leave some of the ferrule material on?

You can flatten the ferrule and cyno the tip on it. You don't have to take the ferrule down to the tennon. That is typically the easiest way to make it bca legal.

If you can let it setup overnight use Gorilla glue wet the back of the tip and the ferrule and clamp them together.
