Gluing the seams?

If you superglue the seams of a 3 piece slate together correctly, you don't need to use the slate screws at the seams to hold them together! Think about it!!!
The paragraph above this post said to mount end slate screws last, so in confused a little. If you glue the seams do you need slate screws at all? Can the rails secure the slates without using any screws or do you still need the screws to hold the slates level? Thanks

I would think you need some screws to hold the slate to the frame, or else every time someone with weight bumped into the table the slate would slide a little across the frame. Whether you need all the screws or not is another question.
 
I like to put at least 4 in, usually a few more than that. Cheap insurance against someone trying to move the table but lifting on the rails or skirts.
If I know the table is with someone that would never do that, just the 2 on each end is fine.
Diamonds are a little different, since the rail bolts clamp the slate to wood that is screwed to the cabinet or frame. On some of the home style tables, the bolts only clamp to the slate's backer boards.
