GO Customs jump cue is excellent - quirky jump question?

curious, has there ever been a scenario where you have witnessed someone play position to get into a jump situation?

That makes no sense all to do that.
Unless the winning 8 ball is hanging in the pocket and blocked by your opponents ball/balls.
 
I got a GO jumper in January and I agree it’s a great product.
Other than pushing out to a jump after the break I can’t recall anyone playing shape for a jump that I’ve seen but I’m sure there has been weird situations where it was done.
 
First time I ever saw this was a guy pushing out to a jump shot for a winning combination after the break in the 9-ball. Took me by surprise until I analyzed it and realized his opponent didn't jump. This was back in 1991 and i don't recall a whole lot of jumping taking place then.

Veteran players can always take the long way around - next game, next set, next week... still, all shots are shots and any sequence could be advantageous.
