Jillians is next to the Green Monster, and Boston Billiard club is a few blocks over.
Both have 9 footers, Jillians: Loud music tons of younger folks. Huge game room, the pool tables are on an old Skating rink, you are standing on a hard wood floor. If you go later in the evening on a weekend, you have to go on a wait list.
BBC more of a high end pool room atmosphere, saw a couple good players shooting some 9Ball. Not as loud as Jillians, more laid back, nice bar.
Look around for a manilla envelope, I may have left $32k lying around and I will give you a % for its safe transport to me.

Downtown I would recommend Boston Billiards on Brookline Ave, just down the street from Fenway.
South of Boston, in Quincy, I would recommend Renaissance. Same building as the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
North of Boston? Anyone from this area knows, if you're from the south shore you know nothing of the north shore and vice versa

I have a friend on the north shore who has 2 gold crowns in his house and loves to have people over to play 14.1 , not gamble, just for the enjoyment. He is a great guy and could point you around the area as well. PM me if you want me to make the connection.
North and West Suburbs
North of Boston in Woburn is Silver Cue. Very old school. Boston Shorty played there. No bar, older tables with tournement blue simonis. I understand that they attract some very good players, especially for tournements and in house BCA league.
Country Club USA in Chelmsford is very nice. Tons of GCIII's, nice bar with good food. Nightclub downstairs has some good scenery and at least used to have a couple of 9 footers along with the bar boxes.
Newer place in Ayer called Billiards Cafe is very friendly and accessable via Commuter Rail (Acton-Fitchburg Line) 9 foot Brunswick (not GC) I play league there. Good people and a few B to A- players (not me)
I do agree with previous posts that Boston Billiards is best in Boston proper.

If you like 3 cushion, World Class (just up route 1 from Boston) is the home of National 3c champ Mazin Shooni -- don't miss out on this room if you like 3c. He is recovering from back surgery, but reportedly has picked up the cue again. They have 4 heated Soren's plus a dozen or so 9-ft pool tables.
