Going To Vegas For The BCA? Read On!

You're right! I should follow my own advice from another thread and keep that kind of stuff between the hours of 10pm & 6am!

Did you really say something about using bad language on here in another thread? That's funny. I wasn't referring to anything you said before. I was just trying (emphasis on the word "trying") to be funny.

Back to the "topic"... Do ya'll think you would be able to find me if I walked around with my name tag on my forehead?? :D

I think a Tattoo across your forehead would be a little bit more visible.

I knew you were joking. There was another thread where I was picking on two people for their topic of conversation (it wasn't a pretty read after having just eaten dinner) I told them we should treat the forum like the FCC does tv... I was being facetious. Always take me with a grain of salt... I'm just here to have fun & laugh.

I won't be able to attend. Not that anyone really gives a shit, but I thought I'd say it anyway! :D

We aren't getting there until early that evening.

I'll still be there by then Jimmy, not that you prob give a sh*t lol :-)

All pretty good advice except for the part about the midnight buffet at the RIV. I wouldn't feed any of the food @the Riv to my dog. The place is a dump as a casino & for food. Go to the Riviera, enjoy the pool scene, and then take the time to go other places to eat, gamble, and drink. The employees @the Riviera are horrendous as well. Rude, impolite, and get ready for a long line when you check in/out of your room. Play pool @the Riviera. Experience Vegas EVERYWHERE ELSE.

Hi Watchez,

The RIV buffet can be good and bad. Depends on what time of the night you get there at. If you get there more towards the time they change from dinner to the midnight special, you have a better chance of a better meal. On nights when they have prime rib and seafood buffets, it's always left over from one the evening dinner, you just have to get there early. Midnight is usually a pretty safe time.

What is problematic for the players in the past, is that they play till all hours of the night and this can mean that the "better" restaurants are not open. This leaves the RIV buffet, The Peppermill (expensive and next door to the RIV) and several fast food which are way over priced. I totally agree with you to go other places, but other places are sometimes not available at the times you have to eat.

I would not consider the RIV a dump, it certainly is not Paris or any other of the big hotel/casino's. There are many other places including Circus Circus,The Stardust that and Westward Ho that are pits next to the RIV.

I have found a good deal of the employees to be kind. I think that they treat you as you treat them. There are several cocktail waitresses around the Splash Bar that have been there for years that include Linda who is a doll. At the AZBilliards Party, I will let everyone know who the best employees are. I will agree with you that I have heard that the employees are rude and so forth, I personally have not experienced it. Bob and I have been going to the RIV for over 15 years now and consider a lot of the employees friends and family.

And yes, you are so correct regarding the check in. It is a nightmare. I did omit discussing it because I felt that it might be better this year since there is not the mass number of players there has been in the past. Bob and I usually fly in a day or so earlier just to avoid the line. It gives us time to regroup and play the machines before they go on tilt.

There are several places to play pool including besides the RIV. Their names escape me at this time but I will post them or someone else can post as soon as possible.

As far as poker low limit goes, I have heard that Circus Circus is the best place for that. It is located directly off the front lobby of the casino.

With the new ownership of the BCA it is important that we support the league system and by doing that, it is important to support the RIV. This goes for people attending the APA in August and The ACS next year.

Good luck to all!

hi, Eydie,

Would you please suggest some decent pool halls at LV? I am not looking for any place for any sort of action, just to find a clean place to spend a few hours at with my buddies during the BCA tourny weekend.

Thanks for you post, very informative.

Wonderer

Hi Wonderer,

I would advise you to stick to the two main rooms in Vegas. The Las Vegas Cue Club has a shuttle that runs hourly to and from the Riviera. Its the easiest to get to. I also recommend Pool Sharks. The Cue Club is located on East Sahara about a mile from the Riv. Pool Sharks is on Decatur just South of Spring Mountain Road, about five miles away. If you need exact directions, just ask!

Hey Lyn,

Cue Club was the Hall I was trying to remember. I am looking forward to seeing you, loads to tell you!

The Las Vegas Cue Club has plenty of ACTION, it is non stop during BCA and Valley. I think that there is another place called Sharkies? Maybe I have it confused with Pool Sharks. You will find a boat load of good players there that include Trick Sixty and others....

Jimmy We still want you to stop by the Fury Booth when you can, even if you can't make it to the Splash Bar and FX I think we can handle the fury booth being AZB headquarters. The more the more fun we will have. Looking forward to it.

Thanks for the Heads Up Eydie, I'm sure this is going to be valuable information.

You forgot to mention our AZB meeting though..

EVERYONE:
AZB GET TOGETHER AT THE SPLASH BAR AT 12PM ON WEDNESDAY THE 18TH OF MAY. FROM THERE WE WILL BE HEADING TO THE FURY BOOTH.

Where is this "SPLASH BAR"? What Casino? - At the Riviera?

Is Cue Club gunna have thier Tues. Night Tourney? ( think its $15.00 entry - splash and cash 9Ball).

Great. I will get to meet a lot of the guys that I see on the site and chat with off and on. Be sure to say hi to me and introduce yourself. This will be my first time there. A lot of the Fury Amateur Players are going to be stopping by the booth too. We will be having lots of fun. The only thing I have to get ready for is the time change from east coast to there. See ya soon
Kay
I would have liked to have meet everyone there but I'm home now. Only went for 4 days as I'm a single dad. It was fun though. BCA did a great job this year I'm sure everyone will agree. Maybe next year I'll be able to stay longer.

The Splash bar is in the Riviera. You will find it in the middle of the main room. Kind of like a rectangular bar. Ask anyone in the Riv. Good luck finding it and have a great time.
