Tim, as spool said, try placing shims between the wooden part of the slate frame and the top of the leg pedestal first. Just loosen the 1 leg frame bolt first, then lifting slightly under the frame to create a gap between the frame and the top of the leg pedestal, place a wedge shim there, insert it further to raise the frame as needed. Once level, tighten the frame bolt back up, but don't tighten the heck out of it, just enough to add pressure to the shim and leg pedestalSporto said:Coffe can, veneer scraps and a razor blade...got it. Thanks for the help.
Tim, don't place the shims between the angle iron mounting bracket and the leg pedestal, make sure it's between the timber frame right over the leg pedestal. Shimming between the angle iron bracket and leg pedestal can cause the angle iron bracket to slid upward.Sporto said:Glen,
Thanks for the explanation, I didn't realize it would be such an easy task to get a wrench on the nut that connects the angle iron on the bed frame to the pedestal once the table has already been set up.
Finally, got me a 'real' GC...oooogaaaaahhh!!
