Gold Crown 1

slate

Look, in most cases there's othing wrong with the Brunstone. If it's crowned or sway back, then that may also indicate there's a problem with the frame. If the long timber frames have bowed downward over time from improper shimming of the slates, then when you mount the slate it may in fact be flat level, but once you screw mount it to the frame of the table, you may in fact be pulling down both sides of the slate across the frame making the slate appear to be crowned or vice versa. I haven't ran across enough bad brunstone to even worry about it.

Thank you sir

Its BEAUTIFUL. You mention it's SW paint and the colors, but which paint of their's did you use and how did you apply it?

Glad you like it. I actually used Benjamin Moore Advance paint but the color profile is Sherwin Williams. BM will mix any color no matter what the profile is. Advance takes a relatively long time to dry (16 hours between coats) but is has good leveling characteristics.

Many hours went into surface preparation, stripping the old paint, fixing cracks and bubbles in the veneer, and sanding everything smooth before priming.

Since I don't have a spray gun I used a combination of brushing and rolling. I am not a professional painter so it took numerous coats and hours of wet sanding to 4000 to get a finish I was happy with.

I learned quite a bit doing this project, enjoyed doing it, and am happy with the result.
