Gold Crown 3 question.

I may buy a Gold Crown 3 from a friend and I was wondering if the corner metal can be swapped out with GC4 metal corners with the recess for the pockets that set in flush. If so, what does a set of GC4 corners cost? Thanks,
Chris

Buy a set of GC iv pockets and they will fit just fine...that will give
you a lot lower profile pocket.

You have to modify the bolt/screw pattern to make gc4 castings fitt not alot of work pretty minor just not 100% swapable. send your castings to brunswick to have them refinished its like $85-100 for the set.

GC IV castings on GC 3? not alot of work?

Brunswick refinishes castings?

what have I missed here?

This I have to see! I would love to see pics of this. I can not imagine this to be possible much less easy.

I spoke to the guy who does this refinishing/plating process for Brunswick & it was $380 for all six castings to be redone in antique bronze.

I too was intrigued by Craigs post since I am in the process of a GC III refinish. I called Brunswick and spoke with Marvin E, Brunswick does not actually do the refinishing. He referred me to the company that does the GC castings, Al's Polishing in Toledo, OH - 419-476-8857 ask for Rick.

I may look local.

I have mine done local but last week another tech on here said it was $85 he as sent in 4-5 sets in the last two weeks. Maybe someone on the other end likes him or is reading wrong price sheet.

I'll call find out somemore here in a little bit.

Can you also show us how you are adapting G.C IV castings to fit threes?
Very interested in the correct answer for the original poster. Thanks

The castings on the GC4 are larger-wider,taller than the GC 3 castings...even the trim on the 4's rails is larger than the 3's my friend...

That is who I got my price quotes from. Im sure it looks great but I decided to powder coat mine myself in copper metallic & I believe it looks nice. Only cost me about $15 for the powder too!

really, I wasn't aware of that?

I use to order custom tops from Brunswick with the GC IV in batches but thought they stopped that program.
