Would like feedback from mechanics that installed them. Had one say the table is eh. Would like to not compare to a Diamond... simply want to know why some mech's do or do not not like it from their point of view. What is there not to like. Negative and positive comments welcome. Reason I’m inquiring... just trying to get a review. I’m considering a GC6 if I can get past its looks. Thanks

Save yourself some money.
There are probably a ton of GCIII's out there to be had for $2500 or under.
Throw another $2500 into it to make it perfect for yourself including pick up and installation by a top notch table mechanic.
You'd be saving lots of money as compared to a GC VI.
Don't know anyone that doesn't like playing on a well built GCIII which is a classic looking table.

New Crown is 4x more than my 1st new car... but just looking and dreaming.

I had a GC3 that was as good as they come. Diamondized rails, the works. Got rid of it in favor of a diamond because I didn't like shooting around the pocket irons and ball counters. Sold it to a buddy for a good price.

Now you know one person.

Diamond is probably the best choice for every reason. I’m not ruling it out. However I’m not changing my screen name.

Hard to beat the looks and play of a properly restored and set up Gold Crown 1.

Ball counters and pocket irons affect your play?
Wow.

It's just the angle of the photo. This table doesn't have the plastic skirts, which would shield the view. The pedestals do protrude from the frame, though it is not typically observed, unless you are down low.

Finish on castings? Looks nice

This was a trial effort, for a residential customer. I used high-quality 3M vinyl. This is 'Brushed Titanium". I'm not so sure that I would try it for a commercial setting, as they take so much more abuse. However, I really liked the look, and wanted to give it a try. Otherwise, I would suggest powder coat, for the increased durability.

It does look good....

I agree Geoff although I might be a little biased.

You must be a 1P player. Pockets look perfect and blue cloth looks much better than green. Very nice room and well done table. Congratulations. If I lived closer I’d like to be your friend😀

I'm not a mechanic but I know for sure one of the mechanics set up one or two 6's about a year ago and had a thread with pictures on it here. I can't recall which mechanic it was.

Also if you want to see video of them in action, look up the Japan pool channel on youtube. Their major tournaments are all on GC's , and the last two years many of the streamed matches were on GG6's with green cloth.
