Gold Crown 7 Revealed

I showed up wanting one and after two hours I walked out significantly less sure. The pockets feel way tighter than a Diamond, not sure why but they do.

The white rails feel.... cheap, and my God does every spec of chalk or dirt POP on that white. When paired with tournament blue Simonis you definitely feel like your fucking a Smurf.

The reason given for Diamond having the legs in the far corners is so it can be 1 piece slate tipped on its side for installation. Their Professional model, in contrast, has the legs offset. If Brunswick found a way to accomplish the same fast setup with legs offset from the corners, that's a nice upgrade for tall player comfort.
This table is just like every other GC in it has a frame resting on legs. ProAm is basically a big barbox: you have a box for the frame with legs attached at the corners. The Pro is like a GC with a frame sitting on the legs. You did look at your own pictures, right? Pretty easy to see how this thing is made.

4.25 is pretty snug. I'm surprised myself they went with white in a busy poolroom.

Shot the shit with the owner, he really liked white over the grey so it was an easy choice for him.

Bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off...

I can't believe there not doing a black that matches the 7ft pro mode.

I also can't believe there not doing a wood veneer for classy home players that don't want this look making their house feel like a bottle service club in Houstons third ward...

Yes, I'm well aware of the construction of the Diamond Pro-Am, Professional, and GC1-6. The "pictures only" of the GC7.

Yet to be publicly revealed on the GC7 is how the 1 piece slate models will be delivered and installed. What will and what won't be assembled from the factory. How they will be transported in a truck. How they will be transported from the truck to the install site. How the unassembled factory pieces will be packaged. Are there any design differences between the 1 and 3 piece slate tables to facilitate any of this.

It's just guessing at this point (by us here anyway).

I love the white. That's what I'd get. I actually am super thinking about painting my GC4 base and skirts white.

I prefer the black or brown over the white. The white apron gives it good contrast.

White frame/rails are ok for home use, but the blue cloth looks like the circus has come to town. I saw gray cloth on a white Diamond the other day and that’s even worse.

Whatever the tan/beige cloth color they used in the 60s on the original GCs compliments the white frame best.

Yes, the black with the white trim is the one I am going to go with when I finally pull the trigger. Of course I won't be pulling the trigger until they make the GC7 with drop pockets. No ball return for me.

The ball return was the one part of this table that impressed me the most.

The intial drop was kind of loud but the balls got delivered to the tray quietly and quickly and the tray was nice too.

The ball rack that comes with the table is a screaming piece of shit and I'm not a fan of the storage slot being below the ball tray that was kind of awkward. Diamond has the perfect rack location and there was no reason Brunswick did not just straight up copy that...

How did it play otherwise compared to an older GC or Diamond? How did it bank? How did the rails feel cheap? Was it a plastic fealing?
