It's FINALLY finished! Figure I'd start a new thread for those that just want to see the finished product.

If you are interested in the build thread, here's the link: https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/gold-crown-ball-polisher.538320/#post-7136734

I've been following your build thread like a kid waiting for Christmas. C'mmmmmonnnn already!

The day is finally here. Congratulations! It looks fantastic.

Three questions: 1) What sort of carpet are you using? 2) How does it perform, particularly in relation to a Diamond polisher? 3) How easy do you think it would be to swap out a Diamond polisher's carpet with what you used?

Thanks, man!

Three questions: 1) What sort of carpet are you using?
Pile carpet on the wall of the opening, microfiber bonnet on the platter and a Diamond sprocket with Diamond supplied carpet.
2) How does it perform, particularly in relation to a Diamond polisher?
Works fantastic; spirals the balls and polishes every square milimeter, just like a Diamond. It was engineered from the get go to be built to function just like a Diamond.
3) How easy do you think it would be to swap out a Diamond polisher's carpet with what you used?
I tried using the Diamond carpet but did not like the performance using it. I use the Tiger Products ball cleaning solution and all the Diamond carpet did was smear the product on the balls. The carpet Diamond uses does not absorb any of the cleaning solution so it is very difficult to get a good shine. That material would work fine with car wax because the car wax eventually dries to a haze and the carpet buffs the wax off but I don't like using car wax on the balls. It leaves them way too slippery out of the polisher. The polishing surfaces I'm using work perfectly with the product I am using.

Just to clarify, I'm asking how easy do you think it might be for someone with a Diamond polisher to swap out the carpet for the carpet that you used.

Shouldn’t be hard at all to retrofit the pile carpet and a microfiber bonnet would fit over the platter.

This is an amazing story we have followed, and fun to watch. I hope you get a lot of years of enjoyment out of your new "Bruswick" ball cleaner!

Just a side note, if you are happy with your formula, don't change a thing of course, but I would love to hear how the 1Tbsp Aramith cleaner in 1cup of 91% Isopropyl alcohol from a spray bottle would do with your machine. I have found it to be the most amazing mix and it leaves NO residue.

It’s a shame that Diamond offers such a good quality polisher yet places virtually no emphasis on the padding material they are using on the balls or in providing precise instructions with the purchase of each unit as to exactly what polishing product to use with their unit to get the balls to come out looking great.

Obviously Rexus31 has put as much time in determining the correct buffing material to use in his unit and what buffing product to add, as he has in the creation of the entire unit itself, which obviously makes all the difference.
