Gold Crown II Identification

I am just about to buy a GC II through an ad on Craigslist in San Diego but I'd like to get some verification from some experts before I shell out the cash.
I noticed after reading some posts on this forum and looking at some pics on the web that there are a couple of differences with the table in question. One is that there is no score counter. There's also no ball holder on the end rail opposite the Brunswick emblem, which is silver.
The buyer is asking for $1500 and he mentioned that it's never been in a pool hall. He just refurbished the rails, which overall looks clean. But there is a quarter-sized dent and a small scratch (1 inch) by the emblem. And one of the pockets is missing a screw. He's throwing in delivery and setup by a local mechanic.
I think it's a good deal and he seems honest so I'm leaning towards getting it but I'd like some peace of mind before I make a deal.

Never heard of a Gold Crown without score dials on the rails. Sounds like a knock off table to me. BEWARE!!
 
it should have counters on the foot, unless it was replaced with another head rail which would have a nameplate. maybe thats why he wants his mechanic moving it.
 
Thanks guys for your replies. I asked him to take more pics. Here they are. I do agree with scruffy1 about the lack of counters on the later models. But I thought that all of the earlier ones had them so it led me to believe that the table has a mismash of parts, most likely a GCII with GCIV rail(s). I'd appreciate additional comments. Thanks.

Looks like a GC2 or 3 to me' but there's no score counters....the GC4's have no head plate and different corner castings..you couldn't put GC4 rails on GC3 castings....very odd that there is no score counters'
