Gold Crown II

I recently went to look at a Gold Crown II. While looking over the table I noticed there were three rail bolts missing. Should I be concerned? Is this something that they may be missing because where they would attach to the rail they are stripped?

The asking price is a little high. I am wondering if the missing rail bolts are a sign that the table should be avoided.

Thanks,

Scott

Take one of the other rail bolts and try installing it in the missing bolt holes.;)

Now I feel stupid....:D

Are replacement rail bolts available?

I would rather spend a few bucks on some bolts and try to put them in before I would consider removing a bolt from a table that I do not own.

Basic question still remains. Should I be concerned? The rail bolts are missing for a reason. Either they were missing when the table was moved, or they do not stay in.

Instinct tells me to stay away from this table. 1. Missing bolts 2. Price is high compared to what I have seen them going for lately

Thanks,

Yes, you can buy rails bolts from the hardware store. 3/8 and 2 1/4" Long. Sometimes mecanics forget to tighten the bolts and they fall out. You should be concerned if the table won't take your replacement bolt.

I'd say on a GC it would be more likely that someone cross-threaded a bolt at some point in time and weren't able to get a bolt to go in. I've never seen a bolt fall out of a GC, It can be fixed if the price is right. You can replace all the missing bolts with new ones and if the inserts are cross-threaded, you can re-tap the threads. It's a little bit of a pain but can be done. You just need to decide if it's worth the price knowing it'll need a little extra work.
