Gold Crown III Frame

I can give you a few good reasons why featherstrips don't fit as tight anymore, and one of those reasons there's a bigger problem with the rails than first thought!

Can you tell me some of the reasons the featherstrips might not fit tight anymore?

Or did those problems go right over your head when you said you could just have fixed the featherstrips?

Because they were made of candy corns.

Anything I say you will claim is wrong. Sad. Sadder is how many people buy your garbage.

I've played on many tables you've set up. Not horribly impressive.

Nice, attack me because you don't know how to answer my questions! Are you really cocobolocowboy as you both think alike!!

i'd heard of the new drug called 'GROWACET'(aimed at butthurt 'wokes') but i didn't realize that they'd come up with 'BEADICK' as well. Maybe its a pre-release trial. ;)
Maybe some people should just admit they don't know what they're talking about, rather than trying to argue in their defense, and when that don't work, then they try to belittle me, nice move on their part, even drawing in fan support, or as I like to call it, the peanut gallery!!!

Funny thing is, it's always the SAME pathetic members, less than a hand full. Wonder why that is!!!

It just never ends 99% of the time. Nothing is ever good enough or how "it should be done", it is always on and on....
I just don't understand. It must take a lot of time to peck type all this stuff into a barely internet capable, non smart FLIP PHONE>....

As I am pondering setting up my GC III finally I was wondering, would it make sense to improve the center frame supports. Rather than running the solid supports across the width of the table, what if you ran a support (like a piece of LVL) the long way, and then ran shorter cross members across the width. Am I just over engineering, or would there be an advantage? I notice that the Diamond tables use a long very stout looking center beam.
Back to the content that this thread was started on! @rellek , please keep us updated on the progress of your table build!

I'm heading to Coeur d' Alene/Spokane September 1st. Maybe RKC can give me a list of tables he set up there and I'll judge for myself.

I've worked on several tables Glen has rebuilt, and have watched him work. He can be a bit brash, but he DOES know more than most will ever learn, and his work is top notch. He is not stingy with his knowledge either, if you call him up he will try to help you every time.
My advice would be to cut him some slack, and listen to what he's trying to tell you.

Ok I have another dumb question, how can I tell which direction my slates should sit in the frame? I thought I had read that the arc from the grind on the bottom indicated which direction was which, but I can't remember which way it was. I feel like the opening of the arc would point to the foot of the table if they start the grind from the head, but I'm not sure. I did get my frame reinforcements installed and my frame cross member adjusted, and everything is in place and the frame is leveled out.

Oh and I painted my feet.

As a rule, the grinding curve goes away from the foot.

I see you've made some nice modifications to that GC4 frame, which did come out at the end of the GC3 production years.

Just curious though, which one of these guys that like to take turns bashing me, did you learn those upgrades from?

Oh, thats right, those modifications came from me, because NONE of those guys have ever contributed anything worth while to AZB!

Oh really, and what kind of tables would you like to judge my work on, exactly?

What are your qualifications to judge my work, are you capable of doing my level of work?

You want to judge the playability of the tables I've worked on, what's your claim to fame that makes you an expert at how a pool table is suppose to play?😅🤣😂

Sure thing buddy, bring it on! My work has been judged for over 40 years, a lot longer than these peanut gallery contests have even thought about pool tables!!!

All that you have said is true. Well, until the last sentence. NO ONE GETS TO BE A DICK ALL THE TIME> This forum is a home to a lot of us. That bull$hit has almost stopped. There is ONE person who treats people like $hit.

So many people are very very good at what they do and think that allows them to talk to people any way they like. I give respect where it is due....

I am dont with this thread.
