I recently purchased a black Brunswick Gold Crown lll that is in amazing condition. After purchasing it I noticed the Brunswick label said it was a Model JD. I’ve looked for hours and can not find any information with this designation. Have any of you Gurus ?

Thank you in advance

My guess is that's just an internal factory code of some sort. Might call B'wick directly.

I did email Brunswick and they were unable to help.

No Sir, it does have a ball return. It’s very unfortunate that Brunswick had a flood and a fire destroying much of their records. I wish I was able to determine how old my table is.
3's were made from '76-'97. Most just go by the version ie a 1,2,3,4,etc. The exact year it was 'assembled' doesn't mean a whole lot. The 3's were the first to have most of the table farmed-out to foreign co's. If is got original cushions i'd replace them. They weren't very good to start with and didn't last near as long. You might also think of doing the RKC frame support mod. Cheap and easy to do. Are your frame end sills between the side beams or bolted on to the end? Some early 3's still had GC2 frames with the ends between the side beams. Frame mod pics: https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/just-for-your-information.132657/

Don't know what it is, but my GCIII says model "AK".

Maybe something to do with the color/trim, as mine has the "rosewood" finish (I think that's what it's called).

Thank you for your response. My table does have the the end sills bolted onto the ends of the side beams. Thank you for that information, that is a very easy modification that could save me headaches down the road. I’ll be sure to install them when I set up the table.

The 9th post in that thread tells what he used to do the mod. In a home set-up you're usually ok as is. In a pool room where lots of people lean/sit on a table the ends can sag. Easy mod to do. Ken at Classic Billiards has the cushions to get. Also has various GC parts, manuals, etc. Good luck with new toy.

GCIII was where Brunswick lot me.
Superspeed rubber was cheap rubber that I could buy for 25% of the original Superspeed.

I have the "autograph model" GCIII, so mine plays great. :)

I was lying on my back, underneath the table, to get that picture, BTW.
