Hello guys, I have been on this for a while just reading all the stuff posted here, and I need your help.

First off, what table is this? I know the I's had the plastic skirts, and the ashtrays, but only some had the adjustable leg levelers. I’m not too sure what the II’s came with as standard. As you can see from the pics that this table has Leg Levelers, the plastic skirts, as well as the ashtrays.

The pictures of the balls in there are to illustrate the problem I am having with what I think are the gully pockets. I think they are making the black marks on the balls. Have any of you come across this, and if so, do you have a solution to make the balls not get the dark black scuffs on them. It happens very quickly, within the first game of playing after the balls have been polished they are all scuffed up.

Has anyone been successfull at taking the metal trim around the edge of the rails off and having them rechromed or refinished? I would be interested in hearing anyones stories about this.

In the picture of the corner casting (DSC_0398) there is a noticeable lip between the end of the rail and the casting, is there any way to correct this?

I realize there are some problems with the cloth being stretched on the rails. I can see it as well as all of you. I am having it corrected when the table gets covered again.

Anyway, any help with this table would be much appriciated.

This is a link to the directory where all the pics are, just incase these pictures dont post correctly on the site.

Those are nasty scuff marks. My guess is that you need new gulley boots. They also look to have prominant edges projecting into the pockets. Perhaps new boots would be smoother.

The ball-return gutters are probably rubber-coated. you might want to firmly rub a ball on one of them to make sure the marks aren't coming from there.

scuffs

you may want to place a clean towel in the pocket hole to catch and protect the balls, then hit some clean balls into the pocket, fish them out and examine them for marks. It can be caused by the plastic pocket liners, I have seen that. That test should help eliminate the liners as the culprit. I have also seen an awefull gunk that forms on those plastic covered wire ball returns used by Brunswick. If the above pocket liner test shows nothing, then go under the table and unscrew the fasteners holding up a ball return or two. They are in sections. I have seen a stickky gunk build up on them. Clean them good with a household spray cleaner and wash towels, and polish with maybe pledge then reinstall and see if that does not cure it. It has worked in the past, and not become a problem in at least 10 yrs and counting on the tables I fixed. Liners are cheap if you need to replace them, but the wire chutes are pricey.

Gold Crown I

That is a gold Crown I. I own one, I am missing the ash trays. I mean there is just a hole, where they are supposed to be. The leg levelers don't adjust. You have to put shims under them to level the table. I also owned one that had the ball returns the same as an Anniversity.

Well thats what I am puzzled about, as this table does have the turning leg levelers as well as the ashtrays, ball return, and the plastic skirts. I guess what I am wondering also is, does anyone know what upgrade options were on the origional GCIs?

As long as there isnt a muffler to go with the lights.

The lights would be great when your having a party!!!

Very classy GC2 with ashtrays, ball return, and club lights.

Reverend has made a nice blend of old school meets new age. Man I'm squirreling away that idea for a future time/date. One question though, do the lights react to noise?

The lights can be set to act to noise, well at least the ones under the legs, the others around the frame are just on or off. They are all just cold cathode lights, like computer case lights all wired together run off a computer power supply.

I also have a professional grade fog machine in there too that makes for some interesting pool playing.

I figured.... I've done some custom computer builds with the lights in them.

All I see is BBQ in the driveway, music, and some foggy pool.

Nice very nice.

Just a suggestion...... think stripper poles or beer on tap.

Way ahead of you....See the chest freezer, that houses the keg, and all orther sorts of tasty beverages, and as for the stripper pole, one of the support poles on my patio in the backyard has served us well on a few occasions. :) :) :)

That is a sweet looking table:)

Thanks...it was lots of work, but its finally where I want it...the next project will be re-rubbering the rails while tightening the pockets and filling in the factory nut-plate holes.

rounded feather strips

on a side note, does anyone know where to get the wooden feather strips that have the rounded bottom, i have seen them on a few tables, usually older brunswicks and olhausens, but have never seen them for sale anywhere. if you have any or know where to get some i would be interested in a set or 2.

Muellers (www.poolndarts.com) sells feather strips...should be able to get what you need there.

I have tried them for these, last time I asked, they had just the plain ones, square, not rounded on the bottom. Thanks for the responce tho.

No low-rider, just had lots of extra lights sitting around, and needed a home for them.
