Golden Fleece rumor

I'd say watch this match, on a disgusting valley bar box, and tell me this isn't some of the best 8 ball pool you've ever seen in your life ;)
Nobody is suggesting that bar box pool doesn't produce great matches or that it does not require great skill, but I have seen the most elite competing on a bar box dozens of times live, and most of the runouts were so simple that it got repetitious and dull to watch.

Yes, there is the occasional interesting tactical rack, but that's not enough to keep this fan engaged.

bar box tables will ultimately be the end of streamed matches people pay for mostly. always some diehards.
however they contribute to the large amount of league players generated. so that is a big positive for that aspect.

maybe as they get better, a few are already, then its possible they will transition to 9 foot pool. if by then there are any or enough around to find.

REAL bb 9ball is winner break. The beauty of bb pool is watching a master run BIG packages. When you see a cat run 7-8game+ packages its awesome to watch. Watched Matlock catch a gear and run 10+ a few times and its just electric the way he plays.

My ATP Type ratings allows me to give lessons in the aircraft I’m rated in, even though I’m not a certified instructor. I have trained low time pilots in specific aircraft, that includes Hawker, Lear-Jet, Beechjet, and Sabreliners. There’s plenty of certified instructors that don’t know $hit.
yes but my missed point was then would you expect being a great pilot which i expect you are, people would pay you much higher rate for instruction then a highly rated instructor.

That’s not the way most of the world operates. You have unions, you can be the worst of the worst and still get best of the best pay. There’s government pay scales, same thing applies. You can be a horrible CEO and make big bucks. Instructors charge what their market will pay.

For everyone downplaying the BB .... I get it to an extent..... BUT there is literally
corn hole on TV!! Make some sense of that?!

Recreational players will always jump on what makes them feel the best about themselves. That said, there are no BB sized tables in my neck of the woods, other than true to form Valley Barboxes that are in bars, or filling tiny spaces in pool rooms. Those tables get spill over when the 9fts are full.

At one point, one room (now closed) had a Diamond BB. We used it to keep our cases on while playing on the 9fts.

BB is not a thing, North of Toronto. Now you'll find a few rooms with a healthy amount of Diamond BBs in the GTA. Those rooms do host tourneys for those tables, but the defacto standard for competitive play is 9ft.

Not entirely sure what would happen if another room opened up with all BB.... The only room has been enjoying zero competition for nearly decades so they get away with some lousy up keep.
Miss that room "North of Toronto"!

There were alot of great rooms in Toronto back in the day but most were snooker oriented at the time. Times Square, Le Spot ( Monday night 6- red tournament) had it running for years, Snooker Canada, Magic Cue, Monte Carlo etc etc. When the pool craze started Shooter's had it all with decent Snooker tables, pool tables and good food. The Monday night 9-ball drew the players with Alex P being the player to watch. The room hosted some big tournaments as well and I think that's where I ran into the Hatchet man Dennis lol

The pool room i remember in Toronto was the Colored Stone which wasn't to far from the Montana Club imagine that a guy from Montana finding a bar named that ha ha
I don't remember seeing or hearing of the Coloured Stone and the only Montana"s I knew was a roadhouse restaurant chain. I was a poolroom bum that popped into alot of poolrooms. I ran OTR for a few years and Montana was one of my favorite States

The first night I was in Chester England in the Wales border I are at a place that my co-workers wanted to gob called, 'missoula'. I was skeptical, but the food wasn't quite as awful as the namesake town.

George if memory serves me correctly the Montana Club in Toronto was on Jackson St ?

Dee Dee most of us folks don't willing claim Missoula ha ha , I do enjoy the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Boone and Crockett headquarters that are there .

its got great food, two pool rooms, one downtown and one at the university. good fishing int the three rivers nearby. clark fork, bitterroot, and rock creek. lots to see and look at as well as the burnt out hippies with gray hair.

Don't forget a tent city wherever they can pitch a tent also ha ha

The last time I played pool there was many years ago for the Garden City Open 9 ball tournament at the Corner Pocket which was in a mini mall of sorts .

long gone old timer.

even the mall is closed. fishing still good.

aint been to dillon in many years as too crowded now for fishing. did fish the bighorn river below yellowtail dam when it first opened and best fishing of my life. ruined now.

Ha ha I fished the big horn river even when it was closed but then either I or one of my family members knew the majority of the tribal game wardens they would give me a suggestion to pack it up and go home thankfully with out a ticket or loss of fishing equipment .

I've got grandkids who are tribal members or should be and their dad can't or won't take them fishing very often and I now live quite a ways away so it difficult for me to take them .

There's some creeks up on the big horn mtns that my dad took me that I'd like to take them where fly rods rule as does being super sneaky very spooky trout up there !

Shooters actually turned me off tourney play in the toronto area back "in the day". Ridiculous handicapping methodology clearly biased toward their regulars. I once had my handicap raised there, even though I had never cashed, because I bitch slapped a regular in an event in Kingston.

Shooters is one of the biggest reasons I love fargo so much.
