Walking Shoes

New Balance MW 927BK. You can thank me later. :yeah::yeah:

I REALLY put a lot of effort into choosing the right shoes for playing pool. Being on your feet for so many hours and days can cause foot aches in a hurry.

I've tried basketball shoes, running shoes, tennis shoes, cross-training shoes, you name it, I've probably tried most of them.

I learned from the shoe sales people that your feet are unique (duh!) and that what might work for one person may not work as well for another person.

The last time I went into a shoe store looking for the magic shoes, I ran into a young lady who actually played pool and worked in a pool hall. I had my mind made up about what shoes I needed and was actually on the way to a pool tournament in Lafayette, LA when we stopped in Baton Rouge at the exclusive New Balance shoe store. The young lady let me try on a few different pairs of shoes (which is HIGHLY recommended by me and her) of my own choosing, then she asked me to try out this particular pair of shoes which are "walking shoes":embarrassed2:. Walking shoes doesn't sound quite as cool as some of the other named shoes but I'm not one who has to follow what the in-crowd says, so I said, "Sure". As soon as I put these shoes on, I knew I had met my sole match and it has been love ever since.

My shoelaces have kind of worn out and I need another pair but am thinking that I should buy another pair of these shoes as well. It's good to swap out shoes and let them take a break every other day to air out.

Anyway, they look a little peculiar because the front toe portion of the shoe doesn't come close to touching the ground but for playing pool, I haven't found anything to compare.

I buy the black colored ones and haven't had any tournament directors toss me out or give me the evil eye.

Some of the New Balance shoes are still made in America. This particular pair was made in China but I am cool with that too.

I put that idea in my book, Right On Cue. I just want a shoe company to get involved in sponsoring tournaments. They have big money to throw around. I'm sure they would also make a good product, for the player.
