Good Portable Digital Scale?

Any ideas where I could get a calibrated weight? Wait! I'll google it. :groucho:
Most of these scales need the max weight to calibrate. The weights are more expensive than the scales. Cheaper to buy a new scale. Doesn't hurt to have a calibrated weight to check accuracy, but calibration is another story. You can find weight sets on Ebay. Of course, I bought them, because I'm a nerd. I can calibrate any of my scales:D

My 100 gram weight was $7.00 posted, I have a 300 gram weight on order and it will be $8.00 posted.
Some scales do require a weight that is the max , eg 1000 gram, but not always the case.
Mine reqire 100 gram and the other needs a 300 gram for calibration .

This is the one that I also have. Mine weighs items approximately .1 oz lighter than my postal scale but I don't know which is more accurate. Since the pocket scale weighs items to the hundredth of an ounce and the postal scale to the tenth of an ounce I usually use the portable/pocket scale.

To keep cues from rolling off I glued 3 foot spots together, cut them in half, laid them about 1/2 inch apart on the scale table and glued the halves on the scale. I like it fine and the price is right. :groucho:

I couldn't stand not knowing which scale was accurate so I bought a 500 gram weight.

My larger desk scale weighs the 500 gram weight at 504 grams. The portable (link above) weighed the 500 gram weight at 500.3 grams, or 17.65 oz. Google says 500 grams is 17.636 oz. So the portable is off 0.014oz. Close enough for me.. :groucho:

Scales also need to be on a fairly level surface.
Glad you got a reference weight. Neil

I was careful to get a reference weight that weighed in the neighborhood of what a cue would weigh as I read somewhere that some scales may be "on" in one weight range but not in another.

Dealextreme sells one as well, besides about 30 different scales :-)

iirc, it's 300g.
