When I was younger I remember a good game.Rack any ten balls'shoot in
any order.Run 'em it' s a "STRIKE " miss once it's a "SPARE" keep score just
like bowling.Used to play 2,3.4 handed or it's not too boring of a way to
practice.

I have heard similar games, sounds good! - I like this! Now my goal is a perfect 300 :-)

I've tried it, and it's a fun game, but it's a little on the easy side for accomplished players.

For accomplished players, if you make them play the balls in order (ball in hand to start), using the same scoring system, it's a lot better. Quite a bit easier than playing against the ten ball ghost, but still a good challenge.

Also, you didn't mention that if neither a strike nor spare is scored, you get a point for each ball pocketed.

Here's a fun one:

START(
%Ar4D5%B[5O3%CB7\1%D\5N7%E[2[0%FB7\0%GB6\1%H[4D0%I[5N1%JZ5N8
%KB8B9%LD1Z7%MA8\5%Nr7Z9%OD0C8%Pg9V9
)END

Shooter starts with cb in hand behind headstring. Pocket any ball (in the jaws) WITHOUT HITTING THE PACK IN THE MIDDLE. After the first shot, the shooter's opponent chooses which ball the shooter has to pocket(without hitting the pack). The opponent continues to tell the shooter which ball to pocket. If all (jawed) balls are pocketed without scratching or disturbing the pack, the shooter has four shots, including the break, to pocket all four balls in the center in whichever pockets he wants.

It's a fun game that puts a premium on cb control. You want to put the cb in a place where you can see all the jawed balls remaining. If you get behind the pack, sure enough your opponent will make you shoot the one you can't see. Good for kicking and masse as well. It's not all that difficult, but a good break from your average 9 or 8 ball games.

Peace

Bowliards

IIRC the game is called Bowliards, and there is a full set of rules in the BCA rule book. At least I think thats where I saw the rules
