Good supplier for Teak?

I think you would be disappointed using it in a cue. It is pretty bland as a rule and normally UNGODLY EXPENSIVE.

It is popular for decking because of it's high oil content and water shedding abilities.

I HAD some here that disappeared....it was 8/4 and roughly 8 board feet. That board was worth 150-250 bucks, depending on supplier....grrrr

It smells nice, but I wouldn't use it in a cue....
 
Thanks guys. I am familiar with Bell Forest. I have ordered from them many times. I am looking forward to doing some DIY stuff around the house and at work and I wanted to use it for a number of things like the shower, maybe for bathroom counter tops, and even a front desk counter. I was thinking I would tinker around with it in some cues just to experiment with the harmonics. I know it isn't cheap which is why I wanted a decent source.

Before I started making cues, I had a full wood working shop and messed around with making cabinets, garden boxes, and benches & stuff. I love doing fine wood working and have not messed with it in some time. I want to get back to it.

I have been watching some shows like Candice Olsen's Divine Design and Tells All. I am totally in love with her style and wish I had her touch.

I know you aren't supposed to reveal sources publicly, so I hope no one gets reamed for doing so because of me.

Anyhow, I do appreciate it fellas.... wish me luck...
 
so long as you can get around the bonding problems from the oil content I don't see why Teak wouldn't be a good wood.......its pretty and has a tone similar to walnut. Walnut makes a great cue, tho its a little on the light side.....Teak wont have the lightness issue so I think it should work well. If we can glue super oily cocobolo then i don't see why we couldnt put the force on Teak.
