A little birdy just told me that John just beat Shawn Putnam 9 -7 after being down 7 to 5. He ran a three pack to finish out the match! He's playing great right now and advances to the late stages of the 9 ball.

Not bad after a tough match agains Neils Feijen!!
 
I would love to see Johnny win the 9-ball. We might be headed for an Alex-SVB shootout in the finals though.
 
John just banked a ball against Putnam and it came out of the pocket and off the table...:confused: What the hell?

Anyway, John leads 6 -5 for now...
 
Yeah, I saw that first match in which John Brumback played beautifully to beat Shawn Putnam. It was Shawn's first loss, and John drew Shawn again and they are playing now.

FYI, a reliable source explained to me that as Mike Dechaine and Alex Pagulayan have both already drawn a bye while Shawn Putnam and John Brumback have not, the winner of the Brumback-Putnam match will get a bye into the finals to play the winner of Dechaine vs Pagulayan.

PS Mike Dechaine posts in these AZB parts, too, as Mainplayer.

True, I should be giving Dechaine his propers as well. We sure need more good players on this forum. I talked a bit to Dechaine while he played Eric Durbin on the 10 footer for a cheap set. Mike's alright by me, despite what some others say about his gamesmanship...
 
Looks like Putnam won and drew the bye for the next round. Great showing for Johnny Brumback in the Derby City 9-ball division! The winner of Alex and Mike Dechaine will play Shawn in the finals.
