Hi all,
I recently picked up this awesome Blackcreek cue in a trade deal. I had the butt refinished by Bryan Mordt (BCM Cues), who said the cue was very well made and was as straight as an arrow on his lathe. It plays very strong with the radial pin giving it a feel similiar to a Searing conversion I owned. Almost a one piece feel...
It is 58" long and has two full shafts that are both slightly over 13mm in diameter. It weighs 19 and 19.1 oz. depending on the shaft used. The ferrules are synthetic and the tips feel like a medium density, but I am not sure of the maker.
The body of the cue is a dark ebony with some nice, subtle figuring in the grain. There are six hi-lo holly points which are razor sharp. The wrap is grey/black with light grey specks. There are railroad track rings at all positions except for the bottom of the butt where the Hoppe ring is. I'm not sure of the material in the Hoppe ring, but it has some grain and looks like ivory. The buttcap is phenolic, as is the joint collar. As previously mentioned, the pin is radial and the cue fits tightly together. Matching joint protectors are also included.
The cue has a couple of really light player dings. The only barely noticeable one is in the finished stub near the joint on one shaft, but it is nowhere near the area where your hand would be and is just a bump mark.
This cue is simple but very classy, and most importantly, plays like you would expect a Blackcreek to play...strong! As usual, in this day and age, cash is king, but I might entertain trades and partial cash/trade offers. The cash price is $750 shipped in the CONUS.
Thanks for looking!
