Okay, so I got my Varney player yesterday and just had to go out and give it the run through.;) To start off, the pics just didn't do this cue justice. It's stunning in person. Since I'm not a fan of Irish Linen, Kevin did a great job sealing and pressing it to mask the feel. Thanks for that. As for playablity, I was really impressed. The cue has a nice solid feel and cueball action was effortless. The finish of the shaft was nice and smooth and very slick, stroking with this cue just feels nice. When using my old Meucci I was very conscious of the cue in my hand, for some reason when I was shooting with the Varney I almost "forgot" that I was holding a cue(never experienced that before, anyone else?). It was just a comfortable feel. Pocketing balls was that much easier because you almost feel like one with the cue. Needless to say, I played very well with it and am extremely happy with the purchase. Thanks Mr. Varney, it was a pleasure doing business with you and an even bigger pleasure playing with your cue!:D

FWIW, Mr. Varney is a stand up guy and great to deal with. I received my cue three days after Kevin received my payment and that's impressive. I would recommend him to anyone that has any cue needs.

Congrats. I have a Varney J/B and absolutely love it. I'll be ordering a player a little later on.

You are right, my dealings with Kevin have been effortless and very professional. One of the many reasons I do business with him.

I am happy you like your cue. I'd be interested in seeing your pics.

Kevin: Looks like another satisfied customer. Keep up the great work.

I have to post this story..a couple of nights ago..2 good friends of mine who are excellent pool players...both are better than I am. My younger brother was also playing...we were playing a ring game, partners. A friend and myself againt my brother and another friend. dollar on the 3,5,7,9. It was for fun. Well i break with a Varney j/b cue..well i get lack luster shape on the 4 ball and end up behind a wall of balls. Both my buddy and my brother are laughing and yelling "Weakness" because of the shaping error..well i just sigh..walk over break my Varney down..chalk up line up jump and snap...cue ball goes flying over a wall a balls 3 feet down the table ...pockets the 4 ball in the corner and draws back a foot for the shot on the five in the side...which i pocket and run the rack out...When i pocketed the 4 ball the pool hall errupted in ohhhhh's and damn's from the people watching us play....cause it was one hell of a shot.. i just bowed to the people and said .."Gota Love a Varney...i have business cards for all takers"...which 2 very serious customers snatched up....if you havent snaped a rack open with a varney or jumped a ball ...you have got to try one..AMAZING ...

The world is starting to see what everyone in NC has known for quite a while. Varney cues play as well as anything you can buy!

You should try sending him a PM, his username is Varney Cues. He's usually very quick in his response.

I agree! I own a collection of some very fine cues including Gilbert, Joss, SW, Wes Hunter, and my Varney's hit & play better than any I own. If I'd seen Tonov12's cue in time, I'd own it too!
