Okay, so I got my Varney player yesterday and just had to go out and give it the run through.
To start off, the pics just didn't do this cue justice. It's stunning in person. Since I'm not a fan of Irish Linen, Kevin did a great job sealing and pressing it to mask the feel. Thanks for that. As for playablity, I was really impressed. The cue has a nice solid feel and cueball action was effortless. The finish of the shaft was nice and smooth and very slick, stroking with this cue just feels nice. When using my old Meucci I was very conscious of the cue in my hand, for some reason when I was shooting with the Varney I almost "forgot" that I was holding a cue(never experienced that before, anyone else?). It was just a comfortable feel. Pocketing balls was that much easier because you almost feel like one with the cue. Needless to say, I played very well with it and am extremely happy with the purchase. Thanks Mr. Varney, it was a pleasure doing business with you and an even bigger pleasure playing with your cue!
FWIW, Mr. Varney is a stand up guy and great to deal with. I received my cue three days after Kevin received my payment and that's impressive. I would recommend him to anyone that has any cue needs.
