I've been jawboning about pool for several years with my cousin (who's so young I nearly called him my nephew). We finally concluded this barking with a little match-up yesterday.
For the past four years, I've pretty much been a basement player playing solo. No regular opponents, other than the ghost. So Keith arrived at my house armed with a McDermott cue similar to mine, and he told me lots of stories about his exploits with well-known Denver players.
We broke the balls for a game of one-pocket, which he'd never played.
For whatever reason, that game never concluded but we soon moved into a couple hours of eight-ball. The short story is that he shot straighter than I did. Good for him.
He joined the forum recently under the handle tryin2hustle. He's apparently shy about posting, so maybe this will bring him out of his shell.
Otherwise, I'll begin posting about how I've been beating him lately like a red-headed stepchild!
