Fantastic Ash Shaft report - 02-19-2014, 07:32 PM
Shadowmoss cut some ash for shafts and i bought a few pieces
John Nemic just finished making me a 60 inch full splice
he brought it over and we tested it out today

i really loved the shaft,it seemed to put more English ,especially draw
easier

I just moved the cue ball effortlessly and accurately

I knew those English snooker players used Ash and they are fantastic players

The cue is almost like the wood pin Deano cues but a longer taper
the shaft is more porous than maple, and my next shaft will be sealed better, but i won't let him touch this one

I recommend you try the ash shafts,if playability is your primary focus

Shadowmoss (az Handle) Eric has a bunch of the ash shafts,I love mine
you owe it to yourself to try a few
he cuts them ,grades them and grows them in Connecticut at his
home forest

he is well known on here and very reputable

Naturally John Nemic was my choice for this test
dallas,texas

214 577 8759

he also makes the worlds best full splice with colored veneer blanks

yes,i will put them against any in the world and bet my money
that john's are the best points

i mean the points are perfect as i have ever seen

even points at the top,and the bottom and sharp too

if you want a really nice full splice with veneers ,
you will be happy with john nemic

he is making a 62 and 64 inch model as we speak

You don't need pictures to understand these ash shafts are great
I always praise John Nemic,as his work is tremendous

I picked up one of these shafts and would definitely agree, the quality is very high. The grain is super straight, lines very tight and the wood is pure white. I played with a shaft Paul Drexler turned from one of Eric's blanks and at first I didn't realize it was ash.

Great draw power, accurate and for me, predictable. If you are looking for all the signs of select quality shaft wood without compromise, grab one while Eric still has a supply.

Shadowmoss: I would gladly offer some of these shaft blanks for sale at my booths in the Hopkins Expo. (157 & 207). No fees. Whatever price you are quoting the AZ community will be offered...this stuff really is gorgeous. If you have any left, the option is there.
