If a pool room holds a weekly tournament do they usually charge a green fee?
If the room sells alcohol and food they will make money.
If the person running the tournament is also the counter man does he get anything extra, or is this just part of his job?

All tournaments charge a small $10-$15.00 green fee for use of their tables, according to how big a tournament you have and quality of equipment played on.

Most all sells of food come out in the green at tournaments if it's good food, and sells of alcohol may vary, the players themselves usually don't drink much, but the railbirds do.

The person running the tournament usually adds extra money to the players pot so more players will attend the tournament, they make their moneys on food and alcohol sells, so have someone with a smoker going on and sell something spicy so they will drink more!

some places take a green fee, some don't, most do.

Some places take say $2 from a $12 entry to pay the tournament director. It give the TD incentive to bring in players.
