Your opinions on who was the best,i dont know who was but i know Greenleaf played on a 5 by 10 which makes a difference and he sure was a flashy guy unlike Mosconi.

It's not even close. It's Greenleaf, imo. I mean, he ALWAYS made me laugh with his antics.I also liked the Captain,Mr.Moose and Bunny Rabbit.

Its like asking who was the better boxer Joe Louis or Mohammed Ali you can't really tell. Neither of them fought.
Mosconi and Greenleaf did play eachother but when Mosconi was winning Greenleaf was past his prime, and when Greenleaf was winning Mosconi hadn't hit his stride yet.
In terms of who was the best pool player ever, I don't know . But from what I understand the older folk will tell you Ralph Greenleaf, the not so old folk will say Willie Mosconi and the younger folk will tell you Efren Reyes or Mike Sigel.
What certainly doesn't help the situation is that there isn't any footage of either men in their prime. But I believe that Mosconi participated in some filmed matches when he was younger, not really young but under 50. If the IPT makes Pool hip again maybe some companies that have this stuff in archives might dust it off for the market. Or maybe Im too optimistic.
Is that where Keith got the sidewinder stroke?Gerry said:In a few books I have, Mosconi sais Greenleaf was the best ever. Here's a cool pic of the 2 of them.
