Greg's coco & birdseye

Very awesome work Brent as always. Love the birdseye and the brown phenolic ring work. I would assume a lyptus shaft??

This is an exceptionally nice cue.Well detailed to bring out the fabulous wood! What is the story with the dark shaft? Advantage?

Thanks for showing.

greg had these 2 shafts from other cues
i adapted them over for the butt i built.

when i first used lyptus, 5 or 6 yrs ago,
it was lighter than maple, but
very stiff like purpleheart.

was using mainly on jumps & break cues.
talked a few guys into trying them for thier players.

had a good supply , local to me.
sold a bunch off to other makers, so i go back for more.
there were skids of it on shelves 50 foot long 20 feet high.
all gone, dont carry it anymore.
a hardwood flooring company bought it all.

found some in chicago at owl hardwoods, but it wasnt the same.
dont know why the difference, but it was every bit as heavy as ph or even heavier.
