I just wrote a long post, took me about 15 minutes, and when I clicked submit reply, it said I wasn't logged in. I always click on remember me, so I should never be logged out. I logged in, and then it says something like 'invalid thread specified' and I lose my whole entire damn post. This doesn't happen all the time, but when it does I feel like breaking something LOL. Can someone fix this problem please?

lol That is too funny :) Happens to me on another forum from time to time... I have made a habit of highlighting the text and ctrl C to copy it to the clip board when I pen a long post. It has saved me a couple times.

I would also like to see the WEI table put back into the "Quick Links" section of the old skin.

yes best thing is to:

a) click in the text somewhere
b) press [ctrl] + [a] (to select all)
c) press [ctrl] + c (to copy text to clip board

Then it doesn't matter if your internet goes down, or the website goes down you will still be able to paste the text again.

However if your computer dies, or your house is hit by a comet you will probably still lose what you've typed

Removie your cookies and reboot your PC, the log back in and select the remember me option. This should keep you logged in all the time.

We cover the cookies issue a couple of times a week. It is in the user's computer, not ther server.

WEI table is being addressed.

Thanks,

Dave

I had the same problem and cookies had nothing to do with it.

My problem was aol (don't laugh, geeks  ). I finally cleaned out my aol cache (is there such a thing?) restarted about 50 times, lost my desktop aol icon...but by g_d, I'm here as proof of stick-to-it-ive-ness. ;)

must post....must...post....mu........

AOHell.

I've never understood why people use them.

That Cache was probably temporary internet files and old cookies.

AOL ( IMO ) is nothing but packaged marketing....to a captive audience.

Both of these can be set to clear as a scheduled task.

All you have to do is sign in again, then hit the back button 2 times to go back where you were with your post ready to submit and it will still be all there, then hit submit again, and it will post.

All those are good suggestions on how to deal with the problem, but I agree with Last Two. Can someone just fix the problem???? "Remember me" is supposed to remember this computer and have me signed in anytime I visit. I have to sign in everytime I come here and sometime have to sign in again. Bring back the old days when it all worked right.

There's nothing to "fix" on the server or the site. It's likely an issue with your computer, or simply the way it works. I've given this site's cookie management a cursory look: all is working as it should. My cookie expires "1/17/38 7:00pm" for example: what date does yours have?

Clearing your cookies and starting from scratch would be one way to go. Get yourself a fresh cookie.

The problem could be many things on your computer. Perhaps some spyware is screwing with your cookies? Or perhaps something is rejecting them sometimes? Or perhaps any of a hundred other things?

There's nothing, again based on a cursory glance, here to fix.

Empty your "temporary intenet files".

Restart your computer.

Click "remember me".

Should fix.

This may also be a good opportunity to give Firefox a try, too. I assume you're on a PC, where it's a far better browser than the default (IE). (On a Mac, Safari and Firefox are much closer.)

Check your browser settings to make sure that you're accepting cookies. If you're using IE, you may have your security settings too high.
