GSBT: Greensboro, NC: UPDATES

Hello Greg, We are here @ Shooters in Greensboro, NC- we are playing down to 12 players tonight. The usual suspects are in the house making this another tough tourney to win. Prime candidates are Larry Nevel, SD, Mike Davis, Tour Sponsor Nick Varner, Derek Leonard (CHEW), Jeff Abernathy, Adam Pendley, & Mike Fuller.

I will post the final 12 later on as play dwindles down.

The Final 12 left in the tourney are:

Winners side: (4)

Jeff Pruitt vs. Shannon Daulton

Scott Lewis vs. Larry Nevel

One loss: (8)

Craig Gardner vs. Adam Pendley

Mike Fuller vs. Scott Johnson

Nick Varner vs. Dale Ding

Matt Reed vs. Tony Morrision

Surprises in the tourney:

Mike Davis lost to Adam Pendley 9-7 and won a few matches on the one loss side then lost to Matt Reed 9-5.

Abernathy lost to Tony Morrison in round 2 9-7 and then losto out to Jerry Hilton 9-7.

Anything can happen on a Diamond bar table......

Who will be the winner of The Greensboro Open?? we will find out tomorrow!!:D

Also, the 2nd chance event will kick-off tomorrow @ 2pm- so if anyone is around the area and you are an APA / BCA tour member you can play in the event. $20 entry / no tour card- come play!!!

I am tellin' you guys- I am impressed with Young gun Adam Pendley from Hickory, NC. He is playing good and I love to see guys who love the game as much as he does. He is a respectable guy and I know he will be a top player as he gets older. Congrats to him on his 3rd place finish.

Not too lucky the second go around.... check out the full story on AZ Billiards tomorrow for all of your tournament highlights- since I just spoiled the fun!! See you all next weekend in Hickory, NC @ Randolph's. It was a great weekend and wonderful to have Nick Varner w/ us this weekend. The spectators really enjoyed having him and as always it is a pleasure to be around such a class act!! Ya'll have a great night and also Congrats to my South Caroina friend Stevie Moore on his win down in Fla. We were sweating it here in the pool room. It was nice to see two tour regulars- he & Sparky in the finals- and I am also biased since they are both from the Carolinas!:)

No better players in any area of the USA if you ask me, sorry i missed the event , i hope to make it to hickory to see yall again!
