Guerra Cue

I recently had Tony for Guerra Cues make a cue that has been stuck in my head and he knocked it out of the park. I wanted a complete curly maple butt (the anti ebony cue in gallery" and 2 shafts. He added some rings which topped it off and completed a perfect look. He also managed to get a light wood to not play so light, it has such a great balance.

First let me start with the process. Tony kept me in the loop and had great communication until the cue arrived and even after to make sure I was happy. I enjoyed being informed along the way even if it was a call just to say everything is going as planned. Tony was so easy to deal with and was great with helping me through this process. He gave me a time frame that he stuck to, but even if he didn't I'm sure I would of received a phone call. On top of all this he was also just a good guy in general and you could tell he is passionate about the cue building process.

Now on to the cue. The look of the cue is fantastic and the wood has incredible detail. The finish is like glass and is pretty eye catching when you pull it out of the case. The taper is great and even the shafts have some great detail in them. The rings he chose fit the over all look of the cue to a T, everything on it just flows and works together. Like i said before the balance on such a light wood is unbelievable. When you screw the shafts on the butt everything fits perfectly snug.

Now that I have put about 28 hours of play on it I must say I love the way this cue hits. I have to say it has a great firm hit and not overly stiff like a schon sometimes is, but just that solid thud I get from my Scruggs or PFD. I mentioned the balance before but now let me say that even though this is a bit lighter than a cue I normally play with, it doesn't play like it. I have been playing almost perfect position and I am having better cue ball speed than normal so I really can't believe how light it really is. If I need to throw a ball there is no problems with any english I want to throw on ol' whitey. I really enjoy playing with this cue and is a great addition to my cue family.

My pics suck so here is link to Tonys

Thanks for the review Jeff. It is always a pleasure to work with customers like yourself.
Jeff is a great guy and I am glad you are happy with the cue.
Sometimes less is more :)

I'm dying to try one of his cues. I love wrapless cues and the pics I've seen so far of his work are top notch. Hope I get my hands on one soon. Nice work Tony.

Do it brain, Tony was great to work with and his cue hits amazing. and Tony i felt i had to write about this cue the hit and look of this cue has really impressed me. I enjoyed our conversations on the phone and you made the cue design process so easy. I look forward to a future project with you.
