Guess Who Made This and How Old???

+1 for Flowers.

If it is, it looks like its in great shape.

Never seen one with just the small pocket.

I like it.

yea i would agree. the feet and clasp give it away.

The dye job is pretty strange for a tooled case, especially a Flowers case, too uniform. Has it been re-dyed?

Well, he did say he was influenced by Jay Fowers. Whew, Jack's come a long way, baby!

I would say it's a Jay Flower's or a copy of one. The tooling, wide lid flap, double latch lids, etc. were all similar to what he did. He made cases similar to this one in the early 1980's.

You are correct....I would bet its an early Flowers. I never made a case with the zipper in the center of the pocket. Whoever said I made the case has incorrect information. Look under the handle strap and I bet you will see JAF Cue Cases hand written.

Don't feel bad. This kind of stuff happens a lot with cues too. Someone's memory fades or sometimes a cue is originally sold as one thing, but it's really another.

The case is quite collectible as a Flowers. Jay was making cases before Jack started. If you look at the tooling and design of the "Buddy's Buddy" case at the bottom of this page, it is vey similar to your your friend's case. This was a design he was using in the early 1990's, toward the end of his run:

You don't see them come up for sale too often. I found one great 2X4 that I won't sell, and I have a few of the 1X2's. I would have to say $350 for the 1X 2, but personally I would not sell them at these prices.
